Finding You Part 8, Chapter 23~At Skye~Skye was at home having some tea when Lorenzo and Genevieve came in. "How did it go?" Skye asked. "It was great. Goodnight, I'm going to get ready for Alexander," Genevieve said. "Genevieve, it's up to you now," Lorenzo said. Genevieve went upstairs. "You're home early, so I take it didn't go well," Skye said. "No, it didn't. Genevieve doesn't believe I've walked away from the mob. I don't think Genevieve and I will ever fix things between us," Lorenzo said. "Oh Lorenzo, I'm sorry. I will talk to Genevieve," Skye said. "No, I don't want it to ruin things between you too. Skye, if you want a divorce, I won't fight it. Whatever you want, I will give it to you," Lorenzo said, touching Skye's face. "After Anastasia's service tomorrow, let's talk just us," Skye said. "Sure," Lorenzo replied. "I'm sorry about what happened between you and Genevieve," Skye said. "It's not your fault. I told Genevieve it's up to her now. I'm done," Lorenzo said. "Maybe time will help," Skye suggested. "Yeah," Lorenzo said, and he left.
Genevieve was in her room reading a textbook when Skye came in. "Genevieve, we need to talk," Skye said. "I have to study before Alexander comes over. I have a test to take when I go back to college," Genevieve replied. "Genevieve, I know you're scared about trusting your father, but I believe he's moved on from the mob," Skye said. "Daddy's pulling you back in, isn't he?" Genevieve asked. "What happens between your father and me isn't your business. It's my life, not yours. I'm the mother here. Your father loves you and wants to try, so why don't you?" Skye asked. "Because I don't believe for a minute that Dad has really left the mob. It's just a lie to get you back in his arms," Genevieve said. "You need to trust people. You can't live like this. I used to be that way too. It's no way to live," Skye said. "Mother, I need to get ready for Alexander," Genevieve said. "Alright. Be careful," Skye said. "I will. I'm not going to get pregnant ever," Genevieve said, brushing her hair. "Don't say that. Tomorrow is Anastasia's service at ten," Skye said. "I'll be there with you," Genevieve said. "Good. Genevieve, I'm glad we've worked things out, and I know you want to work things out with your father too," Skye said and left.
At Lorenzo's house, Lorenzo came home upset about how things turned out between him and Genevieve. He poured a drink, drank it, then threw the glass.
At Skye's place, Genevieve came downstairs as the doorbell rang. It was Alexander. "Alexander, I'm glad you're here," Genevieve said, kissing him. "How was your dinner with your father?" Alexander asked. "I don't want to talk about that," Genevieve replied. "Are you sure you want to have sex in your house, with your mother down the hall?" Alexander asked. "Yes. Come on," Genevieve said. She took his hand, and they went upstairs into Genevieve's room, sharing a kiss. "Alexander, I hope we have the rest of the weekend just us," Genevieve said as Alexander was on top of her. "Genevieve, I'm sorry, but I have to work," Alexander said. "Alexander, I'm only going to be here till Sunday! I want to see you!" Genevieve yelled. "I have to work. I'm sorry, but you know the empire is important to me," Alexander said as his phone rang. "I have to take this," he added. "We're in the middle of making love, and you want to take a phone call?" Genevieve yelled. Alexander got up, took the call, and Genevieve got up and put on her robe, upset with him.
"Yes, I will fix the deal as soon as I can," Alexander said, hanging up as he walked past Genevieve, who was looking out the window. "Genevieve, goddess, please open up to me," Alexander said. "I'm sorry about us. You pulled away from me. Do you even want to be with me anymore?" Genevieve asked. "Yes, I do. It's just the empire. I'm working on a great deal, and you have a school. That all has to change between us. So, where are we?" Alexander asked, kissing her neck. "Alexander, go home," Genevieve said, pulling back. "Goddess, don't be silly," Alexander said. "Don't. I can't do this anymore," Genevieve said. "What are you saying? It's over?" Alexander asked. "Yes," Genevieve replied, giving him the ring. "Don't. Why are you pushing me away?" Alexander asked. "We were in the middle of making love, and you took a phone call. You're not here when I need you to be. We're both going in different directions in life," Genevieve said. "Don't. Genevieve doesn't do this. I love you," Alexander said, kissing her. She pulled away and slapped him. "Get out! I don't want to be with you anymore. I don't love you!" Genevieve yelled. "Genevieve," Alexander said. "Just go!" she yelled. "Fine. You're going to regret this," Alexander said. "Never," Genevieve said. Alexander left the room and went downstairs.
