Finding You, Genevieve, Chapter 8
At Genevieve's—Bianca came out wearing a black dress. "Does this look okay?" Bianca asked. "Yes, it's fine. Tomorrow we are invited to have brunch at my mother's family house if that's okay with you," Genevieve said. "Sure, it's fine. I would like to meet them," Bianca replied. "You may have changed your mind; my family loves to argue. It's a Quartermaine way of saying I love you—it's like breathing for us," Genevieve explained. "What do they argue about?" Bianca asked. "Money, and maybe tomorrow we could go shopping?" Genevieve suggested. "I'm going to shop with Raelyn tomorrow," Bianca said. "Okay?" Genevieve replied, then she opened her purse and pulled out a credit card. "Here, take this. Buy whatever you want on me," Genevieve offered. "You don't have to do this. This isn't why I'm here," Bianca said. "I know, but I want to. We sure go," Genevieve said. "Thank you," Bianca responded. "Just one reminder—don't tell Nikolas about what I told you regarding his father," Genevieve warned. "I know, not to say anything. You never told me about my grandmother, Alexander's mother," Bianca said. "That's because no one knows who she is, not even Alexander or Victor. Nikolas came back to town with the boys and Emily. We all thought she was dead," Genevieve explained. "How did she come back from the dead?" Bianca asked. "Nikolas' family is crazy, and Helena, Nikolas's grandmother, hates Emily. She froze her on ice to keep her alive for her own plans," Genevieve revealed. "What?" Bianca asked. "I know it sounds crazy, but it's true. I saw the ice," Genevieve said, trying not to cry. "We sure do," she added. They then left and went downstairs.
Downstairs—Josslyn Jacks came in. She and Genevieve didn't get along at all. Genevieve entered with Bianca. "What are you doing here? Are you here to spy on my family? Did your mother send you because our hotel is better?" Genevieve questioned. "No, I'm here to meet someone," Josslyn answered. "Yes, it's fine. Tomorrow we are invited to have brunch at my mother's family house if that's okay with you," Genevieve said. "Sure, it's fine. I'd like to meet them," Bianca added. "You may have inside, darling," Victor said. He took Josslyn's hand and they went inside. It was killing Genevieve to see it, especially when Nikolas came by. "Nikolas, this is Bianca," Genevieve introduced. "I could pick you out in a crowd—you look like my son. It's nice to meet you," Nikolas said. "You too," Bianca replied. "Let's go inside. Emily was going to come, but she got called to the hospital," Nikolas said. "Is Emily a nurse?" Bianca asked. "No, a doctor," Nikolas confirmed. They went inside, and Genevieve looked at Josslyn and Victor, who were laughing together. "Genevieve, I'm sorry about my son," Nikolas said. "It's okay, Nikolas. This isn't your fault," Genevieve reassured.
