Finding You, Genevieve, Chapter 47
At the Quartermaine Hotel dining room, Genevieve entered wearing a red dress and saw her mother talking to her sibling. She felt a bit jealous of how close her mother was with them and walked past the table. "Sorry I'm late," Genevieve said. "It's okay. Victor could have joined us," Skye replied. "Victor had to go to the office. He had been missing some meetings for a while," Genevieve explained. "Yes, I saw that he was at court with you every day," Luis Jr said. "It must be nice to know someone supports you," Lila Rae added. "Yes," Genevieve agreed. "How is Bianca?" Skye asked. "Good, the hospital said she was sleeping, but after this, I'm going to check on her," Genevieve answered. "We're glad she made it," Skye said. "Me too," Genevieve replied. "So, Genevieve, who are you going after next?" Lila Rae asked. "Can we not talk about this?" Skye asked. "Sorry, Mother," Lila Rae said. "It's okay. I just want a nice meal with my children," Skye responded. "It's not going to make it better," Genevieve said. "I know we all have a lot of healing to do, but we will," Skye stated. "Yes, and we will," Luis Jr agreed, and they ordered some breakfast.

"So, Mother, what are you going to do now for money?" Genevieve inquired. "I have the magazine. I'm going to work on it, and I also have the fundraiser to do," Skye said. "Yes," Genevieve replied as Victor entered and went to the bar. "Excuse me," Genevieve said and got up, approaching Victor, who was picking up some takeout. "Victor. Come join us," Genevieve invited. "Genevieve, I told you I need space," Victor replied. "Please, I need you," Genevieve said, touching his hand, and Victor let go. "I've supported you at court; now it's time you give me space," Victor insisted. "I do love you," Genevieve admitted. "Yes, just not enough to marry me," Victor replied and walked away.

Skye watched them and was about to get up. "Mother, why can't you let her go? She's never going to open up to you," Luis Jr said. "I'm a mother. I will never give up on any of you," Skye responded. Genevieve returned to the table. "Are you okay?" Skye asked. "Yes, Victor and I are just fine. This was nice, but I need to go to the hospital. Luis, I hope you find a job," Genevieve said. "I'm going to look today. You will not regret this," Luis Jr assured. "I better not. My job's on the line. John didn't want to give you a chance," Genevieve added. "You call the mayor John," Lila Rae asked. "We do work together, and no, we never slept together," Genevieve explained. "I wasn't thinking that," Lila Rae said. "Lorenzo asked me if I was," Genevieve mentioned. "Genevieve, I know right now you can't see it, but your father loves you," Skye said. "That doesn't change anything; he shot my daughter," Genevieve said. "I know. We all think it's wrong," Skye replied. "I need to go," Genevieve stated and left.

Genevieve moved into the hallway and leaned against the wall as Skylar approached. "Genevieve, let me in," Skylar said. "Victor wants me to move in, and if I say no, it's over," Genevieve explained. "Why don't you want to move in? I know you love him," Skylar asked. "I can't live in the house I was going to with Alexander. We were going to raise Bianca there," Genevieve said. "Did you tell Victor that?" Skylar inquired. "Yes, he thinks I still love Alexander," Genevieve answered. "Do you?" Skylar pressed. "I loved the old him before he changed, but he's not coming back. He's dead," Genevieve said. "Yes, he is," Skylar affirmed. "I sure do," Genevieve agreed and left.
