Finding You, Genevieve, Chapter 52

At Genevieve's penthouse in her bedroom, Genevieve wakes up to find Victor in bed, working on his laptop. "Sorry to wake you," Victor says. "It's okay. What are you looking at?" Genevieve asks. "I'm looking at houses for us to buy," Victor replies, taking Genevieve's hand and kissing her wrist. "I'm sorry," Victor adds. "Victor, it's okay. It was the new rope," Genevieve says. "Was Lila Rae shocked by what you told her?" Victor asks. "Yes. I just pray she keeps it between us," Genevieve replies. "Me too. Do you want to look at the house here?" Victor asks, showing her the laptop. "I don't want a house in the country," Genevieve says. "Why not? We need something for both our horses," Victor argues. "My horse can stay at the mansion. Why don't we build a house?" Genevieve suggests. "That will take too long," Victor says. "No, it won't," Genevieve insists. "You're doing that to stall this, and it won't work," Victor counters. "No, I'm not," Genevieve replies. Victor gives her a look. "I know you, Genevieve Rae, and I know when you're stalling," Victor states. "Are you scared? This is a big step," Genevieve asks. "Yes, but I think we're both ready," Victor replies. "Just promise me it won't change us. I can't lose you," Genevieve pleads. "You won't," Victor assures her, helping Genevieve lie down and then laying beside her, kissing her neck. "Oh, my weak spot," Genevieve says. "Yes, it is. We've been dating for ten years now. It's time," Victor says. "I guess," Genevieve responds as her phone rings. "I have to get that," she says, picking up her phone. "Genevieve Quartermaine, oh no, I will be there," she says and hangs up. "What is it?" Victor asks.

At Skye's house, Rae was in the guest room about to go to bed when her phone rang. "Lila Corinthos? No, are you sure?" Lila Rae says and hangs up. "No!" Lila Rae yells as Skye comes in. "Lila Rae, what is it?" Skye asks. "Mother Morgan killed himself in jail. I need to get to the police station. Where is Raelyn?" Lila asks. "I'm so sorry, baby," Skye says, hugging her daughter as Raelyn comes in. "Mom, what is wrong?" Raelyn asks. "Oh, baby. Your father did love you. I just got a phone call—he killed himself," Lila Rae says. "No, Daddy," Raelyn says. Lila Rae hugs her daughter. "This is all Genevieve's fault!" Lila Rae yells. "No, it's not. Aunt Genevieve's fault. She didn't break the law; he did! He killed himself because he was a coward," Raelyn says. "Raelyn, your father loved us," Lila Rae says. "No, he didn't," Raelyn responds. "Let's just deal with this," Skye says. "Yes, I need to go to the police station," Lila Rae says. "I'll go with you. Come on, Raelyn," Skye offers. "Yes, Grandmother," Raelyn agrees, and they leave.

Carly~ Carly opened the door to find Josslyn. "Josslyn, what is it? It's late," Carly says. "Mother, I've been trying to call you, and so have the police, but your phone is off the hook," Josslyn explains. "I know. Why were the police trying to call me?" Carly asks. "Morgan killed himself tonight. I'm sorry, Mother," Josslyn says. "No, my baby. This is all Genevieve's fault for arresting him," Carly responds. "Mother, Morgan did this himself," Josslyn insists. "Josslyn," Carly says. "He didn't want to go to jail, so he took the easy way out. He didn't even think about his daughter," Josslyn adds. "Josslyn, your brother loved Raelyn," Carly reminds her.

Genevieve, and Victor were getting dressed when Victor brought a box. "Open this, I bought it for you today," Victor says. Genevieve opens it to find two bracelets. "They're beautiful," she says. "Yes, wear them till the mark heals," Victor says as he helps put them on her wrist. "Thank you. Let's go," Genevieve says. "This isn't your fault what Morgan did," Victor assures her. "Yes, it is," Genevieve counters. "No, Morgan didn't want to face what he did," Victor insists. "I pray Lila Rae and Raelyn don't hate me," Genevieve says. "I know," Victor replies. They leave.
