Finding You, Genevieve, Chapter 43
At the police station—Lorenzo and Luis Jr. are brought in again, handcuffed, with Ric standing nearby. "Take them to their cells," Ric said. "Wait," Genevieve said as she entered. "Genevieve, you sure you should be here? You're emotional right now," Ric said. "I don't do emotional," Genevieve replied as she walked past Luis Jr. "I didn't know about it," Luis Jr. said. Genevieve touched her brother's face. "I believe you. I hate that you chose this life, and I hate that I had to arrest you," she said. "I know," Luis Jr. replied. Genevieve left and went into a room where Lorenzo was. "Did you hire the man who shot my daughter? Daddy, did you do this?" Genevieve yelled. "I was never going to kill Bianca, I promise you that," Lorenzo said. "Your words mean nothing to me," Genevieve snapped. "I will plead guilty for shooting Bianca if you let Luis Jr. go," Lorenzo said. "That's why you play with my daughter's life—to get Luis out of this!" Genevieve yelled. "I did what I had to do. You don't care about Bianca; you gave her up," Lorenzo shouted. "I love my daughter!" Genevieve yelled as the mayor entered. "What's going on?" the mayor asked. "I will plead guilty to shooting my granddaughter if my son goes free," Lorenzo declared. "You did this to your own granddaughter," the mayor asked. "Family means nothing to my father," Genevieve said. "No, that's you," Lorenzo retorted. "Genevieve, let's go talk," the mayor suggested. "Genevieve, to get to the top, did you sleep with the mayor?" Lorenzo asked. "No, Daddy. Unlike you, I don't use people to get what I want," Genevieve replied and left with the mayor.

"I'm sorry about this," Genevieve said. "If you want to take this deal, we can," the mayor offered. "I believe my brother deserves a chance. He's young, and I can't put my daughter's life in danger," Genevieve responded. "I know," the mayor agreed. "Let me talk to my brother first. It won't look good if I let him out and he does this again," Genevieve added. "You're right," the mayor said.

Luis Jr. was in a separate room, unaware of Lorenzo's plans. Genevieve entered. "Luis, Lorenzo wants to make a deal. He'll plead guilty for shooting my daughter if I let you go. Luis, if I do this, will you finally leave this life and do something else? You're so smart," Genevieve said. "It won't be easy to leave, you know that, sis," Luis Jr. replied. "Yes, I know. I can help you. Can I trust you with something?" Genevieve asked. "Yes, of course. You're my little sister," Luis Jr. said. "I want to go after Morgan. Will you help me with the case? I'll make sure you're protected," Genevieve stated. "I knew you'd go after him next. Yes, you have my support, and I will help you," Luis Jr. agreed. "Don't make me regret this. Alright, I'll cut a deal with him," Genevieve said.

"Father, he's your father," Luis Jr. said. "No, he's not my father—anyone. I don't have one anymore, nor a mother," Genevieve replied. "Don't be mad at Mother; she was just in love. You loved Alexander. I'm sure you would do anything for him or Victor if you loved him," Luis Jr. added. "I would never put my children in danger," Genevieve said and left.

In Lorenzo's room—Genevieve entered. "Do we have a deal? Do you promise me you will never touch my daughter again?" she asked. "The bullet was never going to kill Bianca. It was just a warning," Lorenzo replied. "That's supposed to make it even better?!" Genevieve yelled. "Just tell me—do I have a deal?" Lorenzo pressed. "Yes, I will let Luis Jr. go. I do hope you love your new home; you'll be in jail for a long time. We'll make sure you don't escape this time. Hopefully, Skye leaves you," Genevieve said as Skye entered. "Skye," Lorenzo greeted. "I will let you both talk. Oh, you were right—Lorenzo did shoot my daughter, but it was just a warning to get what he wants," Genevieve said before leaving.
