Finding You, Genevieve, Chapter 27 ~
At Alexis's Office~ Genevieve entered. "Genevieve," Alexis said as she sat at her desk. "Thanks for meeting me. I brought some coffee," Genevieve said. "Thank you," Alexis replied. Genevieve handed Alexis the coffee. "So, what do you need help with?" Alexis asked. "My opening statement. I worked on it last night," Genevieve said. "Let me see," Alexis said. Genevieve handled the index cards, and Alexis read what she had so far. "Genevieve, I know you're a great lawyer; I've seen you in court. But can you really handle this?" Alexis asked. "Yes, I can. Yes, he's my father and brother, but they broke the law just like everyone else. They need to pay," Genevieve said. "Yes, they do. I've seen the evidence you have. There's no way you'll lose this case," Alexis said. "Good," Genevieve said. "I think your opening statement is great so far," Alexis said. "Good, I know this sounds cold, but I want to win this so badly. I thought maybe showing proof of other crimes my father committed in the past might help," Genevieve said. "That will work. This isn't the first time Lorenzo has been arrested for drug trafficking," Alexis said. "I know. For cocaine. I was hoping to use the fact that Anna Devane was killed right after the changer against Lorenzo for killing Sonny," Genevieve said. "I've always believed Lorenzo killed Anna. I had a strong case against him, but the evidence was stolen," Alexis said. "Do you know who took it?" Genevieve asked. "I always thought it was my mother," Alexis replied. "Yes, Genevieve, your mother loves your father. I believe Skye would do anything for him," Alexis said. "But how would my mother get it?" Genevieve asked. "Your mother and Ric," Alexis answered. "So my mother hits on Ric and steals the evidence? I do believe that," Genevieve said. "I'm sorry," Alexis said. "It's okay. I can handle this," Genevieve replied. Ric entered. "Alexis, Genevieve, how are you guys doing with the case?" Ric asked. "Great. Ric, did my mother steal evidence against Lorenzo in the Anna Devane case?" Genevieve asked. "That day before they were stolen, Skye came into my office and closed the door, saying she missed me. Your mother and I had a thing before she married Lorenzo. Skye kissed me, and then my phone rang, and I had to answer it. After that, Skye said she changed her mind," Ric explained. "So my mother could have stolen the key to the evidence room," Genevieve said. "Yes, I called out Skye on it, and Lorenzo threatened my daughters. I had to back off," Ric said. "I get that, Ric. He needs to be stopped from threatening people to get his way," Genevieve said. "Yes, he does," Alexis agreed. "Ric, I know this is a lot, but will you testify for me about that?" Genevieve asked. "Yes," Ric replied. "Thank you. Aren't there cameras in the evidence room?" Genevieve asked. "Yes, I will get them for you. Do you have a strong case?" Ric asked. "Yes, I do. And I have a witness too," Genevieve said. "Really? Who?" Alexis asked. "Morgan Corinthos," Genevieve replied. "Wow, I think you're going to win this," Alexis said. "Thanks for both of your help," Genevieve said and left. "This isn't going to be good—two mob bosses in jail, the witness is Morgan, and the lawyer is Genevieve, the mob boss's daughter," Ric said. "No, it's not. But after this, we're going after Morgan. The mob bosses in this town are finally going down," Alexis said.

Genevieve's Office~ Genevieve looked at all the evidence on her father and brother. There was a bulletin board filled with their crimes. She touched the board. "Oh, Daddy, why can't you change and be someone else?" Genevieve asked. Flashback to when Genevieve was little: "Daddy, why can't you have a normal job?" Genevieve asked. "What is a normal job?" Lorenzo asked. "Work at a bank or ELQ," Genevieve replied. "I can't. I know you like this lifestyle. My job can give you designer dresses, shoes, and trips with your mother and sisters to Paris. If I had a normal job, we couldn't do that," Lorenzo explained. "I hate having bodyguards," Genevieve said. "It's just to keep you safe; that's all. I love you," Lorenzo said. "I love you too, Daddy. I just want you to be normal," Genevieve said. End of flashback.

Genevieve approached her desk and looked through a box she found in the evidence room. It was related to Alexander's case. She pulled out a jacket and smelled it. "Oh, Alexander," Genevieve whispered, tears welling up. Constanza entered. "I knew it," Constanza said. "Constanza, why are you here?" Genevieve asked. "To see how you're handling all this," Constanza replied. "Oh, what do you know?" Genevieve asked. "I know that you still love Alexander. You're crying over him," Constanza said. "No, I can't love him anymore!" Genevieve yelled. "Why not?" Constanza asked. "I never told anyone this, but when Alexander came back, he raped me," Genevieve revealed. "When did he rape you?" Constanza asked, just as Skye arrived and listened at the door. "At that mother fundraiser that year. I went into the bathroom, and Alexander was there. He trapped me and raped me," Genevieve explained. Skye hesitated, considering going in but changed her mind. "Why didn't you tell anyone?" Constanza asked. "He threatens my family. I love them," Genevieve said. "I know you do," Constanza replied. "Please, don't tell anyone. I don't need this right now," Genevieve begged. "Sure, Ginny. You can trust me," Constanza assured her. "You, Victor, and Skylar are the only ones who call me that," Genevieve said. "We both love you and don't want you to change, but we want to let us in," Constanza said. "I know. Are you mad at me?" Genevieve asked. "No, you have my support, and so does my mother," Constanza replied. "Thank you," Genevieve said. Skye left.
