Finding You, Genevieve, Chapter 24
The next day, in Genevieve's penthouse, she was in her robe in the kitchen, getting some coffee. She then opened the door to get the newspaper. When she opened it, the headline read, "Mob boss and son arrest thanks to Mob Princess Genevieve." Genevieve was upset with the headline and threw the newspaper as Bianca entered. "Sorry," Genevieve said. "It's okay. What made you upset?" Bianca asked. "Just the headline in the paper. Bianca, this thing with my father and brother is going to get ugly. My father already asked me to change my last name," Genevieve explained. "Wow, that's cold," Bianca responded. "It's okay. I can handle it. But what about you?" Genevieve asked. "I can handle it too," Bianca replied. "Good. I'm going to be busy with this," Genevieve said. "I know," Bianca said. "Why don't I go downtown, and we can go to breakfast?" Genevieve suggested. "I can't, I'm meeting Raelyn for breakfast," Bianca said. "Oh well, have fun and be safe," Genevieve replied. "I will," Bianca said and left. Genevieve's phone rang. She answered, "Thank you, I will be there to pick it up," and then hung up.

At The Quartermaine, Skye was in the den holding a family picture when Rae entered. "Skye, I heard," Rae said. "Oh, Mother, this is all a mess. What I'm going to do, no matter if Lorenzo and Luis Jr. go to jail or not, they will always hate Genevieve for doing this," Skye said. "Skye, you're not going to like what I have to say, but Genevieve didn't do this. Lorenzo and Luis did this to themselves," Rae responded. "Deep down, I know that, but I can't lose my family," Skye admitted. "So, what are you going to do? Stay by Lorenzo again?" Rae asked. "It seems that's all I do. Even Genevieve pointed that out," Skye replied. "I'm sorry," Rae said. "It's true, I do stay with him, even when it's wrong. I just love him," Skye added. "I know, but this time, are you going to choose your husband over your own daughter?" Rae asked. "I don't want to choose either of them," Skye answered. "I know. Do you want to get some breakfast?" Rae inquired. "No, I want to see my husband and son," Skye said. "Do you want me to go with you?" Rae asked. "No, Mother, thank you. I need you," Skye replied. "You always have me. Skye, don't turn your back on your daughter; it will kill you," Rae warned. "I know, Mother," Skye said. Rae left, and Skye went upstairs.
Alan entered, poured himself some coffee, and Genevieve came in. "Genevieve," Alan said. "Grandfather, I need to ask you something," Genevieve responded. "Sure, how are you handling all this?" Alan inquired. "Arresting my brother and father—I'm fine with it. It's my job," Genevieve explained. "Genevieve, don't I know you, and you hate this too?" Alan asked. "Yes, I do, Grandfather. I didn't want to arrest my brother and father. I also know this will hurt things even more between Daddy and me, but I can't overlook when they break the law," Genevieve said. "No, you're right; you can't. I do wish your mother was with a normal guy," Alan remarked. "Yeah," Genevieve agreed. "Can you handle all this?" Alan asked. "Yes, I can handle anything. I need you to sign this paper. My father asked me not to use Alcazar anymore, so I want to use your last name," Genevieve explained. "Are you sure?" Alan asked. "Yes, if you still love me," she replied. "I do love you, and so does your father. I think you need to give him time. A parent never stops loving a child. I know you love Bianca," Alan said. "Yes, I do. She was made with love. I just couldn't raise her; I didn't want to have regrets," she responded. "I know. Alright, I will sign them," Alan agreed. "Thank you," Genevieve said. Alan signed the papers. "Genevieve, your mother loves you too. Don't forget it," Alan added. "Yes, I know, but she loved Daddy even more. She chose him many times when we were little," Genevieve said. "I know," Alan said. Genevieve left. Alan poured himself some water when Tracy entered. "I just saw Genevieve leave," Tracy said. "Yes, this isn't good," Alan replied. "For whom? Genevieve can handle this. She's more of a Quartermaine than Skye is now," Tracy said. "True, and now she goes by Quartermaine. Lorenzo asked her to drop his name," Alan noted. "Oh," Tracy responded. "Why are you so close with Genevieve?" Alan inquired. "She's the daughter I never had. She does remind me of what Skye was like before Lorenzo," Tracy explained. "True, my daughter has a chance," Alan said.
