Finding You, Genevieve, Chapter 48
At Victor's office—Victor was looking at a picture of himself and Genevieve when Skye came in. "Skye, what are you doing here?" Victor asked. "I know why you and Genevieve are fighting," Skye said. "Genevieve told you?" Victor asked. "No, she told Skylar. Victor, I get that you want to move in with Genevieve; you want something from this relationship, I understand. But the reason Genevieve doesn't want to move into that house—she was going to live there with Alexander, maybe buy a new one together to start fresh," Skye explained. "I've let Genevieve control our relationship. She only allows me control in the bedroom. Is it wrong that I want a commitment? I know she won't marry me or have a child, but I want something in this relationship—I've been in it for at least ten years," Victor said. "My daughter does love you; she's just scared," Skye said. "Ginny needs to let him go," Victor responded. "Yes, I agree. That's probably why she doesn't want to marry. Last time she said yes, the man left her on their wedding day. It was humiliating for Genevieve," Skye explained. Genevieve came in. "What's going on? Mother, why are you here?" Genevieve asked. "I'm fixing your relationship," Skye said. "Victor and I are just fine; I don't need your help," Genevieve replied, walking by Victor and trying to kiss his cheek, but he pulled back. "I love you, Genevieve," Skye said. "Just stay out of my relationship with Victor," Genevieve responded. "You may not have one for long," Skye said and left. "What did she want? What did my mother say to you?" Genevieve asked. "Your mother just made me realize something. Look, I understand why you don't want to move into Wyndemere. So, why don't we get a new house together?" Victor suggested. "You want to buy a new house together? What about Bianca?" Genevieve asked. "She can move in with us; she's my niece," Victor replied. "Who will pay for it?" Genevieve asked. "We'll work that out," Victor said. "Victor, if we get a house together, will you want all the things that come with it—marriage and a child?" Genevieve asked. "No. Now I have to go to a meeting. You have tonight to decide," Victor answered. "Victor, that's not enough time. This is a big commitment," Genevieve said. "Yes, it is. I want a commitment from you," Victor said. "Most men would just love this— a relationship with no marriage or child, just sex—hot sex," Genevieve said. Victor came over and pulled her in. "I'm not most men, and I'm not him," Victor said. "I know you, not him," Genevieve replied. "I have to go," Victor said, pulling her into a passionate kiss before leaving.
