I glided through the dark room with silent steps, my heart pounding like a distant drum in the night. I was determined to disturb nothing, a shadow among shadows. However, my efforts crumbled like dry snow beneath my feet. A voice, a mere whisper, clawed its way out of the shadows, breaking the comfortable silence that clung to the room like a ghost.

"Y/N? Why are you up at this hour?" Caught off guard, I fumbled with my sentence, "Um, you see... I, uh, woke up, and my throat was really dry. It felt like I had a desert in my mouth and throat." I trailed off, my words picking up speed as I desperately sought a false explanation, and I mentally slapped myself for the feeble answer.

The air hung heavy with tension, thickening with each passing second. The figure emerged from the shadows, revealing themselves to be Poppy. Her expression held a curious mix of interest and concern. "Are you sure that's the real reason you're up?" she asked, her voice carrying an elusive undertone that I couldn't quite pinpoint. As best friends, she could sense my lie with just a single glance.

Trapped in my own web of lies, I took a deep breath and decided to come clean. "Okay, you got me," I admitted, a blend of relief and embarrassment washing over me. "The truth is, I just couldn't resist the allure of the rain outside. I wanted to feel the cool droplets on my skin, to dance in the midst of nature's symphony."

Poppy eyes widened, a hint of disappointment flickering in them, yet her playful smile kept tugged at the corners of her lips, betraying her true feelings. "Well, I can't blame you. There's something magical about the rain, especially when it falls at night." After a brief pause in her sentence, she posed a question that made my hear flutter open. "Mind if I join you?"

I nodded, unable to hide my excitement. Together, we ventured outside into the refreshing embrace of the rain. Our laughter blending with the rhythmic patter of the droplets as we ran hand in hand like small, carefree children. Our laughter kept on increasing as we came closer and closer to a clearing in the beautiful forest.

Amidst the rhythmic patter of our footsteps as we ran, I just couldn't help but steal glances in her direction. And if I'm truly honest with myself, in that moment, she has never looked any more beautiful. Her pink hair that kept on flowing in the wind as we raced through the night. Her face glowing under the gentle caress of the moon and stars, outlining her features. And, oh, that smile – it held a magnetic power, that could light up the place even in the darkest times. Her presence had this enchanting quality, making my heart flutter with an emotion that transformed the simple act of seeing her. And it made me realize that in very moment I was with her, I was witnessing something truly magical.

In those shared moments, it dawned on me that happiness wasn't just a fleeting emotion but a tangible force, embodied by the simple yet profound act of being in her presence. Every second with her felt like witnessing a masterpiece unfold, a symphony of joy orchestrated by the serendipity of connection.

As we finally approached the perfect clearing for a dance floor, the trees seemed to part, revealing the dark blue glowing sky. "This spot is perfect!" Poppy exclaimed as she continued to look around amazed. I chuckled, "It's like the forest wanted to be our dance floor tonight." After a short moment, I squeezed Poppy's hand and grinned, "Ready for the grand finale?" Her eyes sparkled, and she teased, "Bring it on! Let's make this dance memorable." The rain kept on coming, creating a curtain of shimmering droplets that sparkled in the moonlight.

Poppy and I moved into the wide expanse, hand in hand, and the laughing that had been restrained within the trees now resonated freely. The rain's rhythmic beating mixed with our footfall, producing a dynamic tempo for our improvised dance. The forest welcomed us in its natural symphony, with each raindrop and leaf rustling adding to the tune.
