The soft glow of the early morning light filtered through the frosted windows of their cozy North Pole home, casting a gentle warmth over the room. Y/N stirred in their sleep, wrapped in Bernard's protective embrace. His steady breaths and the rhythmic rise and fall of his chest brought a sense of peace that Y/N cherished deeply. Feeling the warmth of Bernard's embrace, Y/N smiled and snuggled closer, savoring the peaceful moment.

As the first hints of wakefulness crept in, Y/N's eyes fluttered open, and a sleepy smile spread across their face. It was a special day, filled with anticipation and excitement, for today marked the beginning of the Secret Santa gift exchange, and Y/N had the perfect plan to surprise Bernard.

Wanting to share their joy, Y/N softly whispered Bernard's name, hoping to wake him gently. But Bernard only pressed his face into the crook of Y/N's neck, drawing them closer. Y/N giggled softly, their heart swelling with love for this wonderful elf who held their heart so tenderly. "Good morning, sleepyhead," they replied affectionately, planting a final kiss on Bernard's cheek before pulling back slightly to meet his gaze.

Bernard blinked, his expression still a little drowsy. "What's got you so happy this morning?" he inquired as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes.

Y/N chuckled softly, their heart full of affection for the elf beside them. "It's a special day, Bernard," they replied, their voice filled with excitement. "Today marks the start of the Secret Santa gift exchange! Remember, Scott wanted this year to have a little more Christmas magic."

Bernard's eyes brightened with realization as he fully woke up. "Ah, that's right! I almost forgot." He grinned warmly at Y/N, his heart swelling with love for their shared excitement. "I remember now. Everyone's been buzzing about it in the workshop."

Y/N nodded, their smile widening at Bernard's enthusiasm. "Exactly! And guess what?" they said playfully, leaning closer to whisper secretively, "I got someone very special."

Bernard raised an eyebrow in mock surprise. "Oh? And who might that be?" he asked with a teasing grin, pretending to be intrigued.

Y/N giggled softly, enjoying the playful banter with Bernard. "Now, now," they teased, gently poking his side, "I can't give away my secret just yet. But I promise, it's someone who deserves something truly magical."

Bernard chuckled, pulling Y/N into a tight embrace. "Well, whoever it is, they're lucky to have you," he murmured, his lips brushing a tender kiss on their forehead, lingering for a moment. "I have a feeling your surprise will be the highlight of their day."
