Y/N sat in the Herbology classroom, staring at the assignment in front of them with furrowed brows. The magical properties of Devil's Snare seemed to elude them, despite reading the textbook multiple times. With a sigh of frustration, they glanced around the room, hoping for a stroke of luck or perhaps a friendly face to help.

Neville Longbottom was that friendly face. As Y/N kept her gaze on the shy boy, a small smile was forming on their lips. There he was, meticulously rearranging his Herbology notes.

However, unlike almost every other day in this specific class, Neville wasn't engrossed in his work. He stole a quick glance around the classroom, hoping to catch a glimpse of Y/N, the object of his affection, but they were nowhere to be seen. He had been admiring Y/N from afar for quite some time, but fear and doubt had kept him from making a move.

Silently wondering where Y/N was, he caught a movement out of the corner of his eye. Y/N was approaching him, their determined stride causing his pulse to quicken with anticipation.

In a panic, Neville's mind raced as he tried to come up with a casual response. Maybe he could offer to help her with her homework or ask about her day. But before he could formulate a coherent thought, Y/N was standing before him, her presence filling the room with undeniable energy.

"Um, Neville? Do you have a moment?" Y/N's voice broke through Neville's inner turmoil, and he nearly jumped out of his seat in surprise. "You see, I could really use some help with my herbology homework."

Neville's heart skipped a beat as he struggled to maintain his composure. This was it-his chance to finally speak to Y/N, the person who had occupied his thoughts for so long. But as he opened his mouth to respond, his mind went blank, the words slipping through his fingers like sand.

"Eeh...well... Me?" He managed to stammer out, his voice barely above a whisper. His cheeks flushed crimson with embarrassment as he pointed a shaky finger at himself, his eyes wide with disbelief.

Despite his initial hesitation, Neville's gaze softened as he met Y/N's eyes, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. He may have been a bundle of nerves, but there was a warmth in his gaze that spoke volumes, a silent reassurance that he was more than willing to help Y/N with whatever she needed.

"Yes, you," Y/N started their response, a playful glint in their eye as they pointed a teasing finger at Neville, silently copying his movement. "You are really good at this class and a nice guy... Soooo, will you help me?"

Y/N couldn't help but smile at the sight of Neville's flustered expression, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment at the unexpected attention. But there was a warmth in his gaze that reassured Y/N, a silent acknowledgment of their shared connection.

Neville's lips twitched into a hesitant smile as he met Y/N's gaze, his eyes shining with a mixture of surprise and gratitude. Despite his nerves, there was a sense of pride in his posture, a quiet confidence that spoke volumes about his character.

"O-Of course, Y/N," Neville replied, his voice steadier now as he pushed aside his doubts and insecurities. "I'd be happy to help you with your Herbology homework."

Giving a quick smile to the boy, she moved his stuff a little to the side and squeezed herself beside him and another student. The old wooden chair creaked a little at the weight, making Y/N's breath hitch.

"Okay, w-what do you seem to have a pro-problem with?" Neville started, cringing at how his voice seemed to get lost as his mouth got dry.

And as Neville and Y/N settled into their study session, the initial awkwardness began to fade, replaced by a comfortable camaraderie that filled the air with warmth and laughter. Neville patiently guided Y/N through the intricacies of Devil's Snare, his explanations clear and concise, his passion for Herbology shining through with each word.
