I looked up at the paper-covered wall and down at the single blank sheet of paper. Nothing; I have nothing. I peered outside to find that the sun was slowly setting, making way for the moon to rise. And then it hit me. I've spent the entire day sitting here, staring at a blank piece of paper! But my attention was instantly diverted to the many voices filling our cozy hobbit hole. I tried to search my brain for any knowledge about some guests, but nothing came up. And even if Bilbo had a great number of guests, he would have asked if it was okay.

I gradually rose up from my desk, the wooden floor creaking beneath me. I tiptoed toward the source of all the noises, and as I approached the dining area, I couldn't believe my eyes. There, in our cozy hobbit hole, a bunch of dwarves were eating mine and my brother's supply of food as well as our ale. I gazed at the dwarves with my mouth slightly open as my brother finally realized I was there. He went fast towards me, the floor silently creaking with each step he took.

"Bilbo, what the hell is this? Why are there a bunch of dwarves in our home?" I whispered as I looked at my distressed brother. "Ah, Y/N, I see you have joined us as well." A new voice spoke up. I looked towards the source of the new voice to find that it belonged to Gandalf the Grey. My eyes widen in disbelief as I took a step back. Gandalf the Grey, a wizard known for his mysterious ways, stood in our hobbit hole, surrounded by dwarfs who seemed to be making themselves quite comfortable.

But, out of my knowledge, all eyes were suddenly at me. I kept on looking at my brother, and I soon realized the state he was in. His hair was all fizzed up from all the tugging, a thin layer of sweat coting his forehead, and his morning coat was very loose from his body. His unkempt look, as well as the state of the hobbit hole, reflected the chaos that had occurred while I had been locked away in my room.

But then a false cough rang out in the room, and that's when I came up with something. The dwarves' loud noises had stopped, and all eyes in the room were on me. I've never done well in circumstances where I'm in the spotlight, which is easily proven. I kept looking up and down to avoid making eye contact, my breathing gradually increasing after each breath, and my fingers working in a continuing pattern.

"And who might this fine lady be?" the old dwarf with a white beard and red clothing asked. Gandalf, noticing my distressed state, decided to introduce me. "This mister Balin is Y/N Baggins, younger sister to Bilbo Baggins." Balin nodded, acknowledging the introduction. "Ah, a Baggins indeed! Pleasure to meet you, Miss Y/N," he said with a twinkle in his eye. The other dwarves followed suit, some nodding and others offering polite smiles. Gandalf, always the one to bring surprises, seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the turn of events.

I managed to stammer out a greeting, "Uh, h-hello." My eyes darted around the room, taking in the unexpected company. Their appearance different from each other, but still having the same type of clothing. Two of the biggest differences must be their age and their beards and hair. The dwarves continued to feast on the food and drink meant for my brother and me.

Bilbo, still recovering from the shock, cleared his throat and tried to regain control of the situation. "Yes, yes. Y/N, these are... unexpected guests." Bilbo's tone wavered between confusion and mild irritation.

Gandalf, the ever-wise, stepped forward, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "These dwarves are on a quest, a journey to reclaim a lost dwarf kingdom and treasure guarded by a formidable dragon named Smaug."

As the tale unfolded, I couldn't help but feel a mix of awe and trepidation. The unexpected adventure that had landed on our doorstep seemed surreal. The dwarves spoke of a burglar they needed for their journey, and all eyes turned to Bilbo.

Bilbo, still untidy and visibly overwhelmed, hesitated before muttering, "I'm not a burglar." But Gandalf, with a knowing glint in his eyes, insisted that Bilbo was exactly what they needed. Another dwarf that I had yet to meet raised a question that was on all the dwarfs' minds. "But what about the lady? Will she have anything to do with this quest?" I looked towards the one speaking to find a youngish dwarf with long blond hair and a mustache with a braid on each side.
