Y/N's paint-covered sneakers squeaked softly against the damp concrete as they navigated the maze of New York City's underground tunnels. Clutching cans of spray paint and a bag full of different paint supplies, they searched for the perfect canvas for their next mural.

As they turned a corner, they spotted a faint glow emanating from an opening in the wall. Curiosity piqued, Y/N edged closer and peered inside.

Inside the hidden room, Donatello tinkered with a small device, his back to the entrance. The room was a treasure trove of gadgets and inventions, each more impressive than the last. Y/N's eyes widened in awe, momentarily forgetting their search for a mural spot. As they looked towards the figure tinkering away, they noticed a metal shell.

That's when they realized it wasn't a human. It...it was some sort of turtle? By the discovery, a soft gasp escaped their lips.

Donatello spun around, his bo staff at the ready. "Who are you?" he demanded, his eyes narrowing behind his purple mask and tech-googles.

Y/N raised their hands in surrender, the cans of spray paint clinking together softly. Their eyes were huge as they took in his appearance. He looked like a turtle, but with human anatomy? Kind of...

Donatello cocked his head, regarding Y/N with a mixture of amusement and curiosity. "Well, well, what do we have here? A lost artist in the depths of the city's underbelly. Looking for inspiration or just a really cool backdrop for your next masterpiece?"

Y/N blinked, caught off guard by Donatello's unexpected quip. "Um...both, I guess? Though stumbling upon a mutant turtle wasn't exactly part of the plan,"

Still gazing upon him, they tilted their head to the side as Donatello plopped his tech-googles on his forehead. "I didn't mean to intrude. I was just looking for a place to paint and stumbled upon...this." They gestured to the room, still marveling at the technological wonders.

A small smile tugged at the corner of Y/N's lips. "Are you...some kind of tech genius?"

Donatello gestured to the array of gadgets around them. "I'm Donatello, resident tech genius and occasional crime fighter," he said modestly, but the pride in his voice was evident. And you are?"

"Y/N," they introduced themselves. "Your inventions are incredible. What does this do?" They pointed to the device in Donatello's hand.

Donatello's eyes lit up at Y/N's curiosity, a smile spreading. "Ah, this? It's a prototype for a portable energy scanner. Still a work in progress, but it's designed to detect and analyze various energy signatures. Useful for locating hidden power sources or tracking down technological anomalies."

Y/N's fascination grew as they listened to Donatello's explanation, their mind racing with creative possibilities. Opening their mouth slightly, they squinted their eyes to get a closer look at it.

As Y/N leaned in for a closer look at the device, Donatello couldn't help but notice the spark of curiosity in their eyes. He adjusted his grip on the gadget before speaking up, "Want a closer look?"

Y/N's heart fluttered with excitement at the invitation. With a nod, they stepped closer to Donatello, their eyes fixed intently on the energy scanner in his hand.

"Thank you," Y/N replied, their voice barely above a whisper. "I've never seen anything like this before." Leaning down to the ground, Y/N placed down their art supplies.

"Careful now," Donatello cautioned, a playful twinkle in his eyes. "It's still a bit temperamental, but I'm sure you'll handle it like a pro."

Y/N flashed a grateful smile at Donatello before turning their attention back to the energy scanner. They marveled at its sleek design and intricate craftsmanship, running their fingers over the smooth surface as they examined it from every angle.
