It is weekend again, my beautiful readers!

I have waited since Sunday night for it to be Friday again, and here it is.. I hope all of you had a good week, filled with some highs to balance out the usual chaos. Also, I'm curious—what are your thoughts on Trump's election win?

But enough about the outside world—let's get back to the "important" stuff, shall we? Today's one-shot! A big shoutout to kybuscus  for the request; I truly hope this story lives up to your expectations.

Y/N knocked twice on the door, barely waiting before stepping inside the Duncan house. She'd been over more times than she could count, so much that Teddy's family often joked she was the "adopted" member of the household. Today felt no different, and Y/N felt instantly at ease in the familiar chaos of the Duncans' lively home.

"Teddy?" Y/N called out, dropping her bag by the couch. She spotted Teddy's head poking out from the kitchen, her face lighting up when she saw Y/N.

"There you are! Finally! I have so much to catch you up on," she said, practically dragging Y/N to her room.

Y/N flopped onto the bed, already bracing herself for the latest news, quirks, and stories Teddy always seemed to have on standby. They had barely made it through a story about a particularly wild study session when the door to Teddy's room flew open.

"Hey, Teddy, did you see my blue hoodie? I can't find it anywhere, and I—" PJ Duncan froze mid-sentence, noticing Y/N were there. His face shifted into a surprised yet pleasant smile. "Oh, hey!"

Y/N felt her heart skip a little faster than usual. For some reason, she suddenly felt a little awkward, like she wasn't sure what to do with her hands. "Hey, PJ."

PJ ran a hand through his hair and chuckled, appearing slightly unsure of himself. "Didn't know you'd be here today. Teddy, have you seen my hoodie?"

Teddy rolled her eyes. "Have you checked the laundry room? Or, like, any other room in the house?"

"Oh, yeah, good call." He flashed Y/N another smile before closing the door behind him, his footsteps echoing down the hallway.

Y/N's gaze lingered on the door, her mind replaying that look, that smile. It was probably nothing, she told herself, but she couldn't shake the way her pulse had jumped a little, the way the air had seemed to shift in that brief moment.

Beside her, Teddy gave a knowing smirk, one eyebrow raised as she studied Y/N's expression. "Wait a second. Don't tell me you've got a thing for my brother?"

Y/N felt her face flush even redder, quickly looking away as she shrugged, trying her best to sound unbothered. "What? No! It's just... you know, it's PJ. He's cute, I guess?"

"You guess?" Teddy's eyes gleamed with mischief, giving her a playful nudge. "You're talking about PJ here. The same PJ who thought he could cook an egg on the hood of a car in the middle of January. He's a total goofball!"

Y/N bit her lip, stifling a laugh as she looked down, a small smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. "Yeah, I know... but maybe that's part of why he's, you know... kind of cute."

Teddy's laughter was barely contained as she snickered, a glint of amusement in her eyes. "Good luck with that one, Y/N! PJ's got the awareness of a brick wall when it comes to girls."

Y/N laughed, feeling both embarrassed and oddly hopeful. Maybe Teddy was right. But she couldn't ignore the little spark of possibility lingering in her mind—the thought of seeing that smile again—and maybe, just maybe, having it be meant only for her.
