113. The Wolf and the Hyena - Shenzi x autistic male reader (The Lion King)

Hello, to my amazing readers! What's up?

As usual, I make an AN at the beginning of a one-shot because it has been requested, so here it is. Thanks again for requesting GabeOwen6, I don't know how many times I've had the honor of receiving another request. Thank you, and hopefully you enjoy the one-shot. However, I'm not sure if I was able to properly incorporate the romance, but hopefully I'm wrong and nailed it.

The sun was setting over the Pride Lands, casting a warm golden hue across the savannah. Birds chirped their evening songs, and a gentle breeze rustled the tall grasses. Y/N, a small, fluffy wolf with a timid demeanor, was nestled under a large acacia tree, cleaning his soft, gray fur. He often found solace in these quiet moments, where the world seemed to slow down and his worries faded away.

Unbeknownst to Y/N, danger—or perhaps destiny—was lurking nearby. Shenzi, one of the notorious hyenas, was prowling through the grass, her stomach growling in hunger. It had been a long day, and she was desperate for a meal. Her keen eyes scanned the horizon, searching for any sign of prey.

As she moved silently through the underbrush, Shenzi's sharp gaze fell upon Y/N, who was completely oblivious to her presence. The little wolf seemed so engrossed in his grooming that he didn't notice the predator approaching. Shenzi's initial instinct was to pounce, but something about Y/N made her pause. There was an air of innocence and vulnerability around him that tugged at a part of her heart she usually kept hidden.

Creeping closer, Shenzi crouched low, her curiosity piqued. She watched as Y/N meticulously cleaned his fur, his gentle movements almost mesmerizing. Her fierce expression softened, and she found herself intrigued by this timid creature. It wasn't often she encountered someone so different from the rough-and-tumble world she knew.

Suddenly, a twig snapped under Shenzi's paw. Y/N's ears perked up, and he froze, his wide eyes darting around in panic. Before he could react, Shenzi stepped out of the shadows, revealing herself with a sly grin.

"Hey there, fluffball," she said, her voice a mix of mischief and amusement.

Y/N gulped, his heart racing. "W-who are you?" he stammered, trying to hide behind his fluffy tail.

"Name's Shenzi," she replied with a small smirk, revealing her sharp teeth. Moving closer, the so-called fluffball retreated away, eventually meeting his end when his back came to rest against the tree. Noticing, Shenzi sat down a few paces away from him, keeping her distance yet seeing practically every detail. "And you are?"

Swallowing hard, Y/N peered out from behind his fluffy tail, his gaze wide with fear as he managed to stammer out, "Y/N." His voice trembled with anxiety, and he couldn't help but let out a small, involuntary shriek: "Please don't hurt me."

Shenzi chuckled, a low, throaty sound that sent a shiver down Y/N's spine. "Relax," she said, her voice a mix of nonchalance and curiosity. "If I wanted to hurt you, I would've done it already."

Despite the reassurance, Y/N's ears flicked nervously as he dared to peek out from behind his protective tail, meeting Shenzi's gaze cautiously. "W-what do you want then?" His voice barely rose above a whisper, the fear still palpable in his demeanor.

"Just passing through," Shenzi replied casually, her smirk widening slightly as she studied the small, fluffy wolf before her. "Haven't seen many like you around here."

Y/N hesitated, still wary of the hyena's intentions. But his ears perked up a little more, and he dared to look at her directly. "Why—what do you mean?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
