Hello, my beautiful/handsome readers!

I understand that this one-shot may seem unusual given that they are robots. However, I just watched the movie WALL-E, and it was too cute and wholesome not to write a one-shot about. It's inspired by the movie's touching themes of connection and understanding, even amidst a desolate world. And with how even with a minimal amount of dialouge, the piece can still be amazing. (Even though mine probably isn't amazing.)

The wasteland stretched endlessly under the dim glow of a fading sun. Mountains of discarded metal and plastic rose like ancient monuments amidst a sea of rusted debris. A chilling wind whispered through the abandoned city, carrying with it the echoes of a world long forgotten.

Amidst this bleak panorama, Y/N blinked to life, sensors coming online with a soft hum. Their metallic frame gleamed faintly in the dim light, a contrast to the decaying landscape surrounding them.

Y/N's mission was clear—to search for any signs of life, no matter how faint or fleeting. The remnants of humanity aboard the Axiom had pinned their hopes on finding a living organism on Earth, a symbol of renewal and possibility amidst the devastation.

Scanning the horizon, Y/N analyzed every detail of the desolate terrain before them. Optical sensors swept across mountains of refuse, seeking any anomaly that might hint at life's persistence. Twisted remnants of skyscrapers jutted awkwardly, their shattered windows reflecting the last rays of sunlight like fractured mirrors.

Their processors whirred softly as they hovered just above the cracked pavement, their sleek metallic frame glinting faintly in the diminishing light. Unlike the cumbersome movements of grounded robots, Y/N's hovering capability allowed them to glide effortlessly over the uneven terrain, navigating the labyrinth of debris with graceful precision.

Occasionally, a gust of wind stirred, carrying with it the scent of rust and decay—a testament to the centuries that had passed since humanity abandoned their once-vibrant home. Amidst this solitary vigil, Y/N detected a faint signal—a blip on their radar amidst the sea of static. Curiosity sparked within Y/N's core as they adjusted their trajectory toward the source, effortlessly maneuvering through the debris-strewn landscape.

Approaching a crumbling structure where the signal originated, Y/N observed WALL-E—his boxy frame, adorned with patches of rust and dents acquired over centuries of solitary work, spoke of resilience and enduring purpose.

WALL-E's optical sensors, weathered by the elements yet still bright with curiosity, peered out from beneath a dust-covered visor. They moved up and down, scanning Y/N with a steady, rhythmic motion.

His treads, worn but steadfast, carried him effortlessly over broken glass and twisted metal, his movements marked by a rhythmic clanking that echoed softly against the desolate landscape. Each wheel bore the scars of countless journeys through the city's ruins, a testament to his tireless dedication to his self-appointed task.

Y/N's approach was silent against the backdrop of desolation, their hovering form casting a faint shadow over the cracked pavement as they drew nearer to WALL-E. The old robot paused in his diligent sorting, the rhythmic clanking of his treads ceasing momentarily as he regarded Y/N with a mixture of curiosity and caution.

For WALL-E, accustomed to the solitary rhythm of his existence amidst humanity's abandoned world, Y/N's arrival was both unexpected and intriguing. The sleek lines of their design and the grace with which they moved contrasted sharply with his own weathered frame and purposeful but worn appearance.
