A new month dawned upon the Glade, the towering walls casting shadows over the rustic clearing that housed the community. The air buzzed with anticipation, a familiar mixture of curiosity and routine, as the Gladers gathered for the monthly arrival of the greenie. As expected, it was another boy, and my sarcastic inner monologue couldn't help but grumble about the perpetual game of 'spot the girl.'

"Really?" I muttered under my breath, glancing around at the boys crowding around the newcomer. Despite my initial skepticism, my attention was soon drawn to him—the latest addition to our ensemble. His tousled waves of dirty blonde hair and the spark in his eyes hinted at an ineffable quality that set him apart.

"Well, aren't you a surprise?" I sighed, a begrudging smile tugging at the corners of my lips.

As Alby led him towards the center, my gaze lingered longer than necessary. There was something about him that piqued my curiosity. It wasn't just his looks; it was an indescribable charm that left me intrigued.

"But," I mumbled to myself, glancing around at the Glade's familiar faces, "it's not like some of the other boys here aren't attractive. There's just something about him that I can't put my finger on."

As Alby and the new Greenie made their way towards the Glade's center, a nagging feeling clawed at the edges of my memory. I watched them, the distance growing with every step, and then it hit me—I had something to tell Alby before the greenbean alarm seized the entire glade.

I quickened my pace, navigating through the Gladers, who were now dispersing and returning to their duties. My eyes darted between Alby and the new arrival, a sense of urgency guiding my steps.

Breaking into a jog, I reached the two boys just as the greenie turned around, his gaze solemnly fixed on me. There was a flicker of recognition in his eyes, elusive yet present. It was as if he knew me, and something in his mind tried to break through a stone wall of forgotten memories.

"Hey, Alby!" I began, my eyes meeting the greenie's. A hint of recognition danced in his eyes, remaining just out of reach. "Lately, I've been noticing some tension among the Gladers, maybe a lack of trust. So, I think that it may be good for an event, or maybe a friendly competition could help lift everyone's spirits. It might provide a much-needed break from the routine and give us a chance to bond outside the challenges of the maze. What do you reckon?"

Alby regarded me thoughtfully, gears turning in his mind. "I reckon you might be onto something, Y/N," he replied, a hint of approval in his voice. "A break from the usual grind could do us all some good. We'll discuss the details later. For now, let's focus on getting our greenie settled."

Nodding appreciatively, I turned my attention back to the greenie, who was still caught in the struggle of familiarity and forgotten memories. The unspoken connection lingered, a puzzle piece yearning to find its place.

I offered a warm smile, hoping to ease the tension in his eyes. "Welcome to the Glade, greenbean," I said, shaking his hand. "Names Y/N! Do you remember yours?" I continued, a thoughtful expression forming as the question lingered in the air.

The greenie hesitated, brows furrowing in concentration as if trying to grasp a distant memory. "I... I'm not sure," he replied, a hint of frustration tainting his voice. "It's like there's a wall in my mind, blocking everything."
