Y/N stumbled through the dense foliage, his small body weary from the journey. At just six years old, he had been traveling alone for what felt like days, the tropical forest around him an intimidating blur of green and shadows. Exhausted, he collapsed by a riverbank, tears streaming down his dirty cheeks.
The forest was an endless maze of towering trees and tangled vines. The humidity clung to him like a second skin, making each breath feel heavy and labored. The strange, unfamiliar sounds of the jungle—chirping insects, distant animal calls—only added to his anxiety. He felt utterly lost and vulnerable in this wild, unknown place.
As he lay there, Y/N wondered how he had ended up in such a situation. He remembered the shipwreck, the storm that had torn his world apart, and the panic as he was thrown into the unforgiving sea. Now, he was alone in a land far from everything he had ever known. The river in front of him seemed to mock his helplessness, its gentle flow contrasting with the turmoil inside him.
A rustling in the bushes caught his attention. He turned his tear-streaked face toward the sound. Emerging from the shadows was a young woman, her presence a sudden and unexpected relief. Her dark hair flowed gracefully around her face, and her deep brown eyes were filled with both surprise and concern.
She kneeled beside him, her expression softening as she took in his ragged appearance. "Hello," she said gently, her voice soothing. "Are you okay?"
Y/N looked up at her, his eyes wide and fearful. "I'm lost," he whispered, his voice barely audible over the rustling of the leaves. "I don't know where I am."
The woman's heart ached at the sight of the frightened little boy. She could see the exhaustion etched into his tiny frame and the fear in his eyes. Without hesitation, she gently placed a hand on his shoulder. Her touch was warm and comforting, a stark contrast to the cold dread Y/N had felt since he arrived. "Don't worry, little one. You're safe now. I'm Chel. What's your name?"
"Y/N," he replied, his voice trembling with a mix of fear and relief.
Chel smiled warmly, her full lips curving into a reassuring expression. "It's nice to meet you, Y/N. Come on, I'll take you somewhere safe."
With great care, Chel lifted Y/N into her arms. He instinctively wrapped his arms around her neck and his legs around her waist. Her skin was warm and soft against his, and for the first time in days, he felt a glimmer of safety. The steady beat of her heart and the gentle sway of her movements were incredibly soothing.
