CLASS TRIAL: RESUME

"Another shocking truth revealed." Monophanie commented.

"BACK-TO-SQUARE-ONE."

Monotaro placed a hand on his cheek. "...Square won? If square won, they wouldn't have got eaten by the competition!"

"After that terrible movie, they had no choice!" The sister sympathized. 

"Wow! What does that mean!?"

"It means he doesn't wanna get involved in another pointless argument. Like this one..." Monosuke answered snidely. 

Kokichi cleared his throat loudly, cueing the Monokubs to shut up and let the trial go on. "We shouldn't listen to anything Maki says. She's just gonna throw out more lies."

"But if we don't ask her for more details, how will we know for sure?" Tsumugi pointed out.

"I told you already, we don't need to... I hate liars! Liar, liar, pants on fire!" He pouted childishly.

"You're one to talk..." Himiko stated blandly.

"..." I stayed silent for a moment, racking my brain for an idea of what to do.

...Maybe... I should give this 'believe in' thing a try...?

Only to explore my options, of course! If it turns out to be a waste of time, then that's on me...

I already learnt my lesson about putting too much faith into people. 

I already learnt my lesson from Ai.

So... to combat that, I guess I won't put too much faith in this gamble to avoid being disappointed.

"I dunno, I think we should hear her out." I suggested calmly, crossing my arms. "Um... go on. I believe in you."

Shuichi stared at me in shock for a moment, before his gaze softened.

"Yeah! Maki, just ignore that lying little degenerate! We'll listen to what you have to say!" Tenko encouraged.

Maki nodded. "It must have been... a little after midnight last night. He visited me at my research lab."

"Motive video?" Gonta muttered under his breath.

"If Ryoma came to ask about that, does that mean you had his motive video?" Kiyo asked darkly. 

Kirumi narrowed her eyes sharply. "As I recall, Ryoma had Maki's motive video, correct? Does this mean you and Ryoma received one another's motive video?"
