Seungmin rocked on his feet, his hands inside his jacket's pockets, waiting for Daya in a cold lecture room. Winter wasn't really the nicest time of the year, sometimes.
Daya hurried into the room. "Hey", she breathed out, tugging her bag close.
"Hey", Seungmin greeted. "What's the problem?"
Daya dropped her bag on one of the desk in the front row. "You took physiotherapy last year, right?", she asked, bringing out books and writing materials from her bag.
"Yeah. Yeah, I did", Seungmin stood next to her. "Are you having a problem with it?"
"Kinda", Daya muttered. "I am not able to focus"
"Why?"
"Because I am afraid of failure?. This is the worst semester ever, academically. I have never been this way before and I really hate it. So much"
"Hey. Hey", Seungmin called softly, moving his hands down to hold hers. He turned her around when he did. "Everyone is afraid of failure"
"Even you?"
"Certainly. I might be such an intelligent student, but I do have my times", Seungmin confessed. He do never said that aloud before. "Last semester, I was failing comparative culture, according to professor Eunkwang. Although they were just C minuses, but yeah, it did affect me and I was scared of failing. I thought I couldn't pass that class and that it would hold me back from entering 400 level but I passed average with over 38 marks"
Daya chuckled sadly. "I am not sure I can make 38 marks in my exams alone. Not to mention the total buildup. I will fail. I have no idea what to write in that exam and it's a 10am exam. I have few hours. Just hours, Seungmin", her eyes shook.
Seungmin squeezed her hands. "You won't fail. Why will you?. When you have me?. We just have to make you concentrate and you do be surprised how you can gain a lot in few hours"
"T-that's the problem", Daya dipped her eyes down. "I c-can't concentrate", she whispered out. "I can't. I have tried-"
Seungmin's cold hands met the skin of her face, he held the sad oval shaped face firmly, making her keep his eye contact. "Focus. You have to. Get rid of whatever that's stopping you from doing that"
"How can I get rid of something I don't even know?"
"It's okay. It's okay. It's just an overwhelming feeling of fear. Just focus on something else that does not have to do with the exams. Anything at all", Seungmin whispered, trapping her browns in his darker ones. His fingers brushed against the skin of her cheeks. "Can you do that for me?"
Daya shut her eyes. She was trying. She loved him talking like that and would do anything when he says that but this was a little out of her hands.
"Look at me", Seungmin commanded, voice stern yet soft.
As if compelled, Daya's eyes fluttered open.
"Good", Seungmin complimented, noting the blushes creeping up her pale cheeks. He smiled a bit. "That's right. You can focus on that feeling too. Just focus. Concentrate. Anything you have to do, just try to concentrate", his voice guided her.
It wasn't only guiding her. It was soothing her. It was helping her concentrate. It gave her something to focus on, just like her voice did for Dayeon.
"Yeah. That's it, Daya. Concentration is all that's needed to pass physiotherapy", Seungmin said, withdrawing his hands.
Daya grabbed them before they left her face completely. She pushed herself to her tippies and tilting her head, she pressed her lips to his soft and cold ones. Seungmin's hand went out of her hold and to the back of her head, he eased the struggle on her toes, bending to her height and kissing her very softly with closed eyes. Slowly, their lips moved against each other in the dim, cold and empty lecture room.
