The Way That I Love You

I love you in color.
In that light blue when the sky meets the earth.
And in pale yellow butterflies,
That fly for miles in the sky.

I love you in seasons.
In wildflowers and spring showers.
In the warm light of a summers day.
In the autumn leaves clinging to the trees.
And in hiding from the snow by a fireplace.

I love you in weather.
In clouds carrying light rain.
In the gentle breeze that leaves you in a daze.
And in a foggy haze.

I love you in literature.
In the poetry you'll never see.
In the writing I pray you'll never read.
In the songs I won't ever sing.
And in all the other ways you inspire me.

I love you in books.
In seeing your name on a page and saving it in my brain.
In the characters in which I can see bits of you.
And in the romances I read and want for us.

The way that I love you is in everything I do.
