Voices in my Head

I hate looking at my family,
Cause I've got two younger versions of me
Screaming words they'll never need.

"They weren't there,
They didn't care
How bad it hurt."

"They didn't protect me,
They let me bleed
And they didn't see."

"He let me leave,
He didn't plead
For me to stay."

"She took me away from my home,
Then only talked to me through the phone.
She left me all alone."

"They let her hurt me,
Let her burn me
With all the hope that I had left."

"They only love me
When I'm worthy
Of their time."

"They turned a blind eye to the scars
On my arms,
Ignored all the harm."

"They believed her lies,
And believed mine too.
When has the truth ever had any value to you?"

I hate looking at my family,
Cause I know those words are true.
And to deny them, I know that it's no use.
