I sent you a poem for Valentine's Day.
I asked you not to reply,
But you did anyway.
Never in all my years did I expect you to say,

"Hey, are you free?
I just wanna talk.
I'll be there at three,
Let's go for a walk.
I just wanna talk."

I opened my eyes and, not to my surprise,
It was all in my mind.
I'm getting tired of the lies
In the night.

I sent you a poem for Valentine's Day,
That part was true.
I waited for your reply,
Even though I said I didn't want you to.
Surprise, surprise, another lie.

So here I am sitting in the dark,
Dreaming bout a park,
We never went to.
I wish my mind could give me more than just an image of you.

Dreaming about your face
Is such a perfect waste.
All the time I can't erase.
The butterflies that I chase
Always beat me in the race.

I sent you a poem for Valentine's Day.
And I can't help but regret it when you had nothing to say.
I can't take it back anyway.
Now that it's done, I just hope that this crush goes away.
