Valentine's Day

It's the day of love.
I still watch you from a distance, even in this instance,
Like a star high above.

It's the 14th of February.
They said that crushes are temporary.
Yet this heart of mine, under the weight of such a crush,
Feels buried.

I see people bringing their valentines flowers.
I roll my eyes in disgust because I long for it so much.
Love has perceptible powers.

I picture your face and dot my i's with hearts,
It's such a work of art.
Every moment that passes brings back a memory.
In this day of love, can I ever take part?

Here I am asking for you to be mine.
It's not the first time.
At least, not in my mind.

So, will you be my Valentine?
