I'm Sorry Dad

If I get a call
That there's an emergency,
I'll be by your side,
Just count to three.

And I'll say the things I always struggled to say.
That I love you dad,
And I'm so sorry that
I pushed you away.

That I never picked up the phone,
I just struggled alone.
Even when it made me cry,
Even when I almost died.

That I never called for you
And just let the pain ensue.
That I hid my tears
For so many years.

Even though I was thankful for
You raising me,
When the one who was supposed to
Was no where to be seen.

Even though I love you more,
Than any man who came after or before.
I shut you out
And continued to doubt.

I'm sorry dad.
