Forgive and Forget

Some say they can forgive but never forget.
Others say they can do both but just not yet.
I used to be the latter, then I was the former.
But now I wonder if the season has ever been warmer.

It's not that I'm incapable of either,
But just that, sometimes, it's better to choose neither.
You understand, don't you?
You've had to make the same choices too.

I won't forgive.
With this bitterness, I've chosen to live.
I don't have many chances left to give.
And this is not a past I wish to relive.

I won't forget.
Your betrayal will always remain in my head.
The pain that I met
Made me to claw my way out of the pen.

I cannot forgive or forget.
Maybe one day, but just not yet.
I once was able to do both,
But you destroyed all of my previous growth.
