I want to take the time to recognize today is the day that Same-Sex Marriage is now legal in all 50 states. The Supreme Courts had a vote of 5-4, and confirmed it this morning of June 26th, 2015.
The United States of America was almost ready for this monumental occasion. Some people are protesting and there is a lot of hate going around. They can say their words, but nothing will change the fact that Love Wins.
Fandoms have been excepting of all people because we have been conditioned to different worlds that can show us the possibilities of love. We have had our eyes opened!
I also want to say that if you were raised to believe different things, that's totally okay. You can choose your beliefs. We won't judge you if you don't judge us. You can be accepting of Gays, but still have a belief against them. It is possible.
I am lucky because my family is very accepting of me, but some aren't as lucky. At least now those who are in the shadows know that they are able to be who they are once they reach legal age.
The Unites Sates has taken a big step toward LGBTQ equality, but there are still more steps to be made. We must support all and aid those who cannot support themselves. The world is changing, and we must change with it.
Other countries are working on their equality, and we must help. Support all in their endeavors. Whether they be straight, Bi, Lesbian, Gay, Pan, Demi, Trans, or anything else. Love is love and we must, at the very least, tolerate love that people have for each other.
June 26th, 2015 is a day of history.
