Short Story #56 - In the Bubble - Annabeth and Percy - percyandannabeth13

Annabeth sits on the green blanket strewn across the sand, a book in her hand. She looks up to see Percy splashing around in the water with a couple of fish. She chuckles to herself slightly and turns her head back to the book.

Percy looks over at his smarticle girlfriend. A smile forms on his face as an idea comes to his mind. He summons his strength over water and forms a huge bubble of water. He makes it travel towards her and he lets it drop on top of her.

She yells out in surprise and frustration, "PERSEUS JACKSON!" She gets up and runs after him.

He suddenly turns around and scoops her up in his arms. He slowly makes his way over to the water with Annabeth squealing the whole way.

"NO! Percy! Put me down! NOW!" She yells.

"Okay then. If that's what you want," Percy says with a smirk as he flings her out into the waves, diving in after her.

He quickly finds her and makes a bubble around them.

"Percy, you have to stop doing that," she mumbles.

"I'm sorry Wise Girl," Percy says as he wraps his arms around her. The bubble starts to move towards their spot in the ocean.

"I accept your apology, but it is still gonna cost ya," Annabeth smirks.

"Is is the usual payment?" Percy asks as he settles into the bottom of the bubble.

"Yes, it is," she says.

Without any more questions, Percy pulls Annabeth over to him and starts braiding her hair.

"I'm getting better at this!" He exclaims.

Annabeth turns and looks at the tangled mess. "It is a lot better than last time," she agrees, "but now it is time to untangle it."

"Okay," Percy says and, only a few moments later, is followed by, "DONE!"

Annabeth runs her hands through her hair and notices that there are no knots. "Well done. You have made your payment."

"Yay!" Percy leaps for joy, "Now it's time for your payment."

"Huh?" Annabeth asks, but instead of an answer she feels Percy's lips on hers. He pulls away as quickly as he had come and Annabeth is left wanting more.

She takes matters into her own hands and pushes her own lips onto his. She wraps her hands into his hair and his hands pull at her back to have her come closer.

After a little while, Percy pulls away and says, "Why does this always happen in the bubble?"

"Cause it's more private and we don't have to worry about the Aphrodite cabin taking pictures of us," Annabeth responds matter-of-faculty.

"True," Percy laughs.

"Let's go back up to the surface now. I wanna finish my book," she says. Then horror dawns on her face. "YOU SOAKED MY BOOK! BACK TO THE SURFACE NOW!"

Percy chuckles a little and floats them back up. Annabeth immediately storms up to her undisturbed and horribly soaking blanket. She holds up the limp, sodden book and glares at Percy accusingly.

He walks over, gently takes the book out of her hands, and soaks up all the water Poseidon style. "There, is that better?" he asks and hands her book back.

"Yes. Thank you." She says as kisses him on the cheek.

Hi my Blue Cookies! I really hope you like this one. It is long overdue. I should be updating every weekend now. Swim is starting so, it may be late Sunday night, but I promise to try my hardest to get it up there.
