Short Story #37 - Around The Fire - Annabeth and Percy - Hazel and Frank - Juniper and Grover - Katie and Travis - Piper and Jason - Leo and Calypso

*After Titan War*

"Come on! We HAVE to go!" Percy whines to a very stubborn Annabeth.

It's after the war with Gaea. All the survivors are at Camp Half-Blood. There is a bonfire for all. Some of the couples that will be there include: Percy and Annabeth, Hazel and Frank, Juniper and Grover, Katie and Travis, Piper and Jason, Leo and Calypso.

"It starts in 5 minutes though." Annabeth states, "Plus, I'm not dressed for the occasion..."

"You know, you always look beautiful to me." Percy says as he slowly steps closer to her, "I know how to convince you to go..."

"How?" she asks, already knowing the answer.

"You know, Wise Girl." he mumbles, his lips next to her ear. He kisses her jaw as she snakes her arms around his neck. He moves to her temple and puts his hands on her hips. Then he kisses her forehead, then her nose, and finally her lips.

Percy pulls her closer as the kiss intensifies. Annabeth is the first to pull away.

"So, about the bonfire..." Annabeth says as a smile makes its way across her face.

"YES!" Percy shouts as he pumps his fist into the air.

- SKIP TO THE BONFIRE -

The marshmallows and sticks are being passed out as everyone sings songs. Grover puts his arm around Junipers shoulders as she giggles at his horrible singing.

"There's No Place I'd Rather Be!" he belts out. Juniper bursts out laughing.

"Am I really that bad?" Grover jokes.

"Yes. Yes you are." she says back. Grover fakes being shocked, but then he can't help the grin that stretches his lips.

"I know how bad I am, but it makes you laugh and that, my dear, is the most beautiful sound in the universe." he says as he cups the side of her face. She turns and kisses his hand.

They both turn back to the fire and sing their hearts out.

Jason holds his marshmallow on the edge of the fire, roasting it nicely. He looks over at Piper and hears her melodious voice wash over him. The stick slips in his hand and the marshmallow catches on fire.

"AHHHHHHHH!" he screams as he throws it onto the ground and stomps it out.

"Hahahahahahahahahaha." Piper laughs, "Now your shoe is gonna be sticky."

"Awe man." Jason groans as he sits back down. Piper kisses him on the cheek.

"What was that for?" Jason asks.

"One: You're an idiot. Two: You're cute when you're frustrated. Three: I love you." she answers.

"OH. Okay then. Love you too." he says, "Another marshmallow please!"

"Don't light this one on fire!" Leo calls as he tosses Jason another marshmallow.

"Remind me why you are in charge of the marshmallows again?" Calypso asks.

"'Cause I'm the King of Sugar!" he says dramatically.

"Don't be so loud." she comments.

"No way Jose! I'll be as loud as..." Leo begins to yell before he gets cut off by a pair of lips on his own. He immediately kisses back, as he knows it's Calypso who captured his lips so perfectly. She pulls away too soon.

"Roast me another marshmallow with those hot hands of yours." Calypso demands.

"Pushy." Leo says jokingly, "But I will since you called me hot." He takes a marshmallow and cups it in is hand, slowly roasting it.

Frank notices Leo's hands light up.

"It's fine." Hazel whispers as she puts a hand on his shoulder.

"I know. I'm just always on edge around him." he says.

"I get that." she smiles warmly at him. Their hands clasp together. That's all they need: Each other.

Travis looks around at all the campers, his friends, his family. He calls the prank off.

"Connor, It's a no-go." he speaks into a walkie-talkie.

"Gotcha." Connor responds.

"Wait... WHAT?" Katie all but screams.

"Well..." he starts scratching the back of his neck nervously.

"I'm waiting." she says dangerously.

"Okay. Okay, Connor and I had a prank planned for tonight. Gonna turn the fire bright pink and have it shoot out fire bursts that would turn people pink temporarily." he says, and quickly back-tracks at the sight of Katie's face. "But! But, I called it off 'cause everyone looks like they are having a good time."

"Hmph. I forgive you." she says finally.

Travis shouts in glee, "YAY!" Then he kissed her cheek. She blushes. They look at each other for what feels like hours (but is only a few minutes) before they are jarred back to reality by everyone singing at the top of their lungs.

I'M RADIOACTIVE! RADIOACTIVE!

They join in and everyone celebrates their victory around the fire.

Hello, my beautiful Blue Cookies.

I finally updated. Expect my next update in about a week. Swim team is officially over for me. We did really well today at the Championship Meet! We got 3rd place. I will have a lot ore time on my hand to write and type and update.

My school starts on the 25th, so starting then, I will only update on the weekends. I hope to update every weekend during school, but I apologize in advance if I don't. I will have a lot of homework.

So, I hope you enjoyed this short story. It had a lot of ships in it.
