Short Story #54 - Babysitting Troubles - Katie and Travis - musicaligirl

Katie got an amazing summer job babysitting these two infant babies. The boy is named Connor and the girl is Peysen. The family is familiar with demigods, but do not have any Olympian blood in their family. One of the family members was once an oracle way, way back and the stories have been told time and time again. The house they live in is monster protected.

Thanks to the brilliance of the Hephaestus cabin, all the demigods have monster safe cell phones, so she is allowed to be away from camp.  Katie decides to text Travis.

K: Hey. I'm at the house. (It's a place for all demigods if there is a need). I'm kinda lonely...

T: Okay! I'll be there as soon as I can escape to the secret tunnel. See you in 20 minutes.

K: See you soon <3

T: <3

Travis closes his phone and makes his way over to the forest from the training area. There is a clearing there with a single black flower. He picks a petal and puts it back on. It opens a whole in the ground, of which he drops into.

It quickly seals over his head and the lights spark into the life. Travis sets off towards the house, feeling rather much like Harry Potter.

Meanwhile, Katie is just feeding the babies and putting them into their cribs. A sound comes from the basement. She outstretches her hands and vines untangle from her arms like whips.

"This house is supposed to monster safe..." she mumbles to no one in particular. Suddenly, Travis bursts through the downstairs door and stops dead as a vine wraps around his leg. It brings him crashing down.

"Hey!!! What in Hades name was that for?" Travis yelps as he look up to see none other than his beautiful girlfriend.

"I thought you were someone, or something, else. My bad," she smirks as she unravels her vines and helps him up.

"So... There are babies her as well..." he stammers.

"Yeah. I babysit for these people. remember?" she says over her shoulder as she pulls him to the family room. The couch there is the comfiest thing ever.

'Yeah," he rubs his neck, "I kinda forgot that part."

"You silly goose. You know me, I would never do anything like that..." she blushes as they both sit down onto the couch.

"Oh. I know you would never, ever do anything like that..." he whispers as he pulls her closer to him.

"Never," she says breathlessly as she closes the gap in between them by climbing into his lap and twirling her hands around his neck.

"Never," he repeats as he grabs a hold of her waist.

"We are so weird," Katie says as she pulls his lips crashing down onto hers.

It's a needy kiss filled with passion and love. Though neither of them have actually said it yet, Aphrodite knows that they are meant to be.

A cry of a baby causes them to spring apart. Katie bursts out laughing and Travis pouts.

"I was having such a good time, and I'm honestly feeling so attacked right now. The babies want all the attention. Why can't I have you to myself?" he complains as Katie goes into the other room. She comes back with Connor.

"My moose just likes to be with his Katie. He doesn't like sharing and is a thief as well. Well, he is a thief of time," she comments.

"Well, then. Is Peysen up?" he asks.

"No. She's still sleeping, but she won' be for long. These two are inseparable," Katie coos.

Travis chuckles, "Babies are always the result, and end, of fun."

"You. Didn't!" Katie slaps his shoulder and giggles as Peysen cries a wake-up call.

"Go figures," he sighs as he goes and grabs her. "The cute ones are always the hardest to please, huh? And I'm talking to a baby... again. These things just keep on happening to me."

Authors Note:

I am so sorry for not updating last weekend. I have one more week of school left and then I am on Winter Break for two weeks. I should be able to do two updates a week.

And for all you Divergent fans, which I am a proud fangirl of, what do you think of the new Insurgent trailer? In my opinion, it is not going to be at all like the book. This makes me sad, but I still have Mockingjay Part 2 to look forward to!
