"Shit," mura ko saka tumingin kina Leah. "Excuse me, I have to answer this."

I immediately ran for the exit, and once I got out, I pressed my back on the door. My phone vibrated, and I answered it without hesitation.

"Hello, Tita? I'm sorry, I was at a pa—"

"Hello, mommy."

It wasn't Tita Diane's voice. Definitely not Roshan's, either. Nilayo ko ang phone sa tenga at nabasa ang hindi inaasahang pangalan. Rolling my eyes, I put it back to my ear.

"What is it, Calvin?"

"Just checking up on my boss," I could tell he was grinning.

"You can only call me for business matters, Calvin. You know that," I reminded him.

He chuckled. "I know. I'm calling to update you on another meeting later tonight."

"Okay. Just send the details in my email."

"Copy, boss. By the way, can I see you? I'm with Roshan," seconds later, he was already requesting a video call before I could ask why they were together. I accepted it otherwise. "Roshan! Mommy's here."

My son's face popped up from his screen, resembling his father too much. I smiled at him, although I was a little clueless as to why he was with Calvin.

"Mommy! Hello!" Roshan greeted. "I'm with my fake daddy!"

I sighed. "Roshan, he's not your fake daddy."

"Why? Are you going to marry him?"

"W-what?!"

"You can just marry him so he can be my real daddy," he replied, hugging the guy beside him. "Please, mommy?! Please?"

"Roshan," I breathe. "He can't be your daddy."

Roshan took the phone for himself, and Calvin peeked from the side of the screen. Both of them were waiting for me to continue.

Sasabihin ko na ba?

"I... I found your daddy, Roshan."

He blinked. "Really? Can I see him? Now?! Where is he?!"

"H-he's not here today," I took a deep breath. "You'll meet him soon."

"He will come here?! I'm excited, mommy!" he cheered.

I can tell that he is. He's been asking for it ever since he realized that something is lacking in his life; that is his father's presence. He deserves to meet him... soon. I just don't know when. I don't know if his father is worthy enough to meet him after all that had happened. Yet.

I was about to answer when the door where I was leaning opened abruptly. Hindi ako nakahanda kaya naramdaman ko na lang ang sariling bigat. Kinapa ko ang kung anuman para bigilan ang pagbagsak dahilan para mabitawan ko ang phone ko. A scream escaped my lips as I closed my eyes, preparing for my fall that didn't even happen.

Something hard hit my back. Or someone.

When I opened my eyes, my body turned lopsidedly. I looked up above my head and saw Larson looking down at me, his other arm belting my waist and the other on my butt. He was just as shocked as I was, but as if a reflex, he held me by the waist and helped me stand.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know you were leaning," he apologized.

I couldn't move when I realized that he was facing the little version of him. Parang nananalamin lang siya.
