Chapter 22: It's More Satisfying to Revenge Together

"It's here!" Stella's face showed surprise and a hint of pity. "Olivia, how could you..."

At this point, the police had already arrived.

Megan pretended to try to stop them but couldn't. "Officer, listen to me. My niece didn't intentionally take Mrs. Wright's ring. This is just a misunderstanding..."

However, the police had been instructed to be strict when they came, so they walked towards Olivia with a stern expression. "Miss Carlson, please come with us."

Everyone thought Olivia would be flustered, but she had a mocking look on her face at this moment. "Everyone, without even opening the box, you're giving me such a label. Is that appropriate?"

Mrs. Wright sneered, "Isn't my ring inside? You still want to argue?"

With that, she had already taken the box and opened it in front of everyone.

However, inside lay a stone, the same type as the pebble given to Stella earlier. Only this one was obviously much smaller, but it was round and beautiful.

Everyone was stunned.

Olivia looked dejected. "This is my own Tristone, meant to be given to my sweetheart. Now you've all seen it!"

Megan's expression was somewhat distorted. "Olivia, where did you hide Mrs. Wright's ring?"

Upon hearing this, Olivia was instantly upset. "Auntie, you've searched my bag too. Like my cousin's, there's nothing inside. Why do you say I hid the ring?"

Megan was confused in her heart. She had arranged it herself and had seen with her own eyes the ring being put into Olivia's handbag. Which step had gone wrong?

At this moment, a male voice chimed in.

Evan Nolan, frowning slightly, stood in front of Olivia.

"Everyone, Olivia didn't do this. Let's just leave it at that! Mrs. Wright, how much is your ring? I'll compensate for it. Today is the day Olivia and I get engaged. I don't want any more mishaps."

His words sounded high-sounding, but they didn't help clear Olivia of suspicion at all.

Olivia sneered in her heart, but her face was full of joy. "Thank you, Evan!"

With that, she looked at Evan Nolan's suit pocket. "Evan, why does your pocket look a bit bulging? Is it a gift for me inside?"

Evan Nolan naturally reached into his pocket. "I was going to use it to propose later, but you discovered it—"

But before he could finish his sentence, his smile froze on his face.

Because he had taken out two rings from his pocket!

Everyone's expressions changed when they saw one of them.

Olivia then exclaimed in surprise, "Wow, this ring is so beautiful. Evan, were you planning to use it to propose?"

Evan Nolan didn't know how to react for a moment. This ring, if he guessed correctly, was the one Mrs. Wright had lost!

Everyone looked at him, their expressions complex.

Because the other one was also a diamond ring, but the diamond on it was less than one carat. In front of this top-grade diamond, it was simply outshone to the point of being worthless!

Evan Nolan's face was ashen. He almost forcibly squeezed out a smile and explained, "This ring should be Mrs. Wright's. How did it end up in my pocket?"
