"From now on, I'll protect you too..."
Before she could finish speaking, Olivia threw herself into Damien's embrace.
The man's body instantly stiffened.
He looked down at her, his eyes red-rimmed and gaze piercing, as if struggling to recognise the person before him.
Olivia gently patted Damien's back.
The man remained silent and motionless, yet his slightly trembling body seemed to gradually calm under her soothing touch. The hand that had been gripping Olivia's throat slowly loosened.
Olivia tilted her face up, gazing at Damien.
Their eyes met - hers full of warmth, his of bewilderment.
Olivia gave Damien a radiant smile.
Feeling his tense body relax slightly, she took his hand. "Dami, let's go home."
Orion had already unlocked the cage door.
And so, Olivia led Damien out of the iron cage.
The fierce, bloodthirsty man docilely allowed Olivia to guide him, step by step towards the exit, as onlookers watched in stunned silence.
His aura remained powerful and dangerous, causing George Thorn's men to tremble and hastily clear a path.
As Olivia led him past, she casually picked up the incense burner.
She glanced sideways at Emma Pearson, still restrained by bodyguards.
Their gazes locked for an instant, and Olivia caught a fleeting look of defiance in the other woman's otherwise impassive eyes.
It seemed the incense burner was indeed suspect.
Emma Pearson was a pharmaceutical expert; she must have used some special substance to trigger Damien's episode.
After all, if this had been Damien's usual time for an episode, he would never have come to the family home!
Fury blazed through Olivia, and she unconsciously tightened her grip.
Feeling the coolness of the man's slender fingers, Olivia's anger transformed into heartache.
This man's past experiences in the family home had been even more tragic than she'd imagined!
Even now, when Damien could defend himself, these people still sought to harm him through such despicable means!
How had he endured when he couldn't protect himself?
As Olivia led Damien out of the hall, she turned to George Thorn:
"From today, I'll spare no effort in opposing you!"
With that, she and Damien vanished from George Thorn's sight.
George stared after them, Olivia's words echoing in his ears.
He fingered the prayer beads he'd been toying with, suppressing a flicker of unease.
Hah, did that slip of a girl really think she could make waves?
Meanwhile, Olivia guided Damien to the car Orion had prepared.
She opened the rear door, gently ushering Damien inside. Just as she was about to withdraw her hand to close the door and enter from the other side, the man suddenly grabbed her wrist.
Olivia tumbled straight into the car, landing awkwardly across Damien's lap.
Behind them, Damien's men had just caught up, arriving in time to witness this scene.
