At this moment, Olivia Carlson was already in the classroom.
She sat down and sent a message to Lily Carlson: "Lily, I'm back at uni today. I don't have any classes after 3pm, so I'll come to your school to meet you."
Lily quickly replied, "Okay."
Throughout the morning, Olivia kept hearing news about Stella Pearson.
That post was still up, no matter how many times the admin deleted it. It seemed like it was haunted, always staying at the top.
Stella was Olivia's senior, a fourth-year student who would be giving a speech as a representative of the graduating class this week.
Because the jewellery design major focuses on practical experience, the fourth year was generally considered an internship year. Therefore, by the end of the third year, students were effectively considered graduates.
Olivia had heard that the representative hadn't changed, so her cousin would be standing on the podium in front of the entire school.
How exciting was that?
At three in the afternoon, Olivia left school and was about to take a taxi to Lily's university. However, just as she reached the school gate, she saw a man in a suit.
The man bowed slightly, "Miss Carlson, I am the butler of the Thorn family. Mr. Thorn requests your presence."
Olivia frowned slightly.
The Thorn family?
She wasn't very clear about Damien Thorn's relationship with the Thorn family, but rumours suggested it was rather strained.
So, today's visit from Mr. Thorn could hardly be friendly.
Damien had a half-brother, a cousin, and an uncle. She didn't know which Mr. Thorn this was.
"Sorry, I don't think I have anything to discuss with your Mr. Thorn," Olivia said, turning to walk back into the school.
Her fingers had already touched her phone, ready to send a message to Damien.
But at that moment, the back door of the car opened, and a man in black stepped out.
He was tall, around thirty years old, and bore some resemblance to Damien, but while Damien had a youthful, ethereal quality, this man was mature and imposing.
"Miss Carlson, nice to see you again," the man said in a deep voice. "If you don't trust me, we can talk in the café nearby."
Olivia stopped in her tracks because of the 'again' in his sentence.
She tried to recall and finally pulled the information from her fragmented memory—the man in front of her was Damien's uncle, Brandon Thorn.
Brandon Thorn was the youngest son of the previous generation of the Thorn family, thirty years old, six years older than Damien.
From what Olivia had gathered, he was not an easy person to deal with.
In her previous life, the year Damien disappeared, Brandon Thorn took over as head of the Thorn family, ruling with an iron fist and hunting down those close to Damien.
Now, because Damien hadn't drunk that potion and hadn't fallen ill, Brandon Thorn undoubtedly saw him as his greatest rival.
"Let's go to the café then," Olivia said, curious about Brandon's purpose for seeking her out.
They went to a private room in the café and sat down. Olivia asked, "Mr. Thorn, I have another appointment shortly. What is it you want to discuss? Please, get straight to the point."
Brandon Thorn nodded, tapping the table lightly with his ringed finger.
His assistant placed a file in front of Olivia.
"Miss Carlson, take a close look. You will find it very interesting."
Olivia picked it up and took out a stack of photos and some printed documents.
Her expression froze as she looked at the photos.
