Outside the door, Stella's gaze burned like flames. So, it was true—they had slept together, and it wasn't just that. There were feelings involved too! Especially Cindy, a woman overlooked at home due to her many siblings, accustomed to pleasing others. When she first befriended Stella, Stella had taken care of her more than once. Yet, here she was, this ingrate, crawling into Evan Nolan's bed! If it weren't for the journalists still present, Stella would've slapped Cindy hard across the face.

Just as her anger reached its peak, she suddenly locked eyes with someone—Evan. His cold, brooding gaze met hers for just a brief moment, but Stella caught it. She was startled but soon realised something wasn't right. Was Evan blaming her? He was the one who had cheated, and now he had the audacity to cast blame? She wasn't the one who invited the journalists; it was his indiscretion that led to him being caught red-handed!

Stella turned her gaze towards Cindy, who was nestled in Evan's arms, her mind full of suspicion. Could it have been Cindy who had tipped off the reporters? After all, wouldn't she want to use public pressure to force Evan into acknowledging her, so she could marry into the Nolan family? Her so-called friend had been plotting this all along...

Stella gritted her teeth, barely resisting the urge to tear Cindy apart. Evan Nolan was her fallback option. If she couldn't win over Daniel Stewart in the end, she still hoped to marry into the Nolan family. Cindy would pay for this—eventually.

But no matter how turbulent things were between them, the damage was already done. Within half an hour, the headlines exploded: Nolan Group CEO Caught in Hotel with Woman, Suspected of Cheating. The photos were up-close, capturing every detail—even Evan's eyelashes were clearly visible. To be fair, Evan's appearance was still striking, even in such an embarrassing situation. His skin was flawless, a fact that no doubt boosted his ego. But no amount of good looks could salvage this disgrace. An obvious love bite marked his neck, and his robe bore telltale lipstick stains, all hinting at the multiple rounds of passion that had occurred the night before.

As for Cindy, she wasn't as fortunate as Evan. Under the glaring flashes of the cameras, every flaw on her skin was exposed. Freckles dotted her nose, enlarged pores marred her cheeks, and her bare skin bore signs of the previous night's fervour, making it clear just how intense things had been.

Evan had always portrayed himself on social media as a devoted lover. Though he'd never revealed the identity of his girlfriend, everyone knew it wasn't Cindy. Someone had even dug up Cindy's social media, and the timelines didn't match up with Evan's at all. The two were clearly unrelated. But now, the online comments were pouring in like a tidal wave:

"Scumbag! I can't believe I ever fell for your 'hopeless romantic' nonsense!"

"Evan Nolan, did your farts accompany the entire act? Or is there some magical fart that works as an aphrodisiac?"

Evan stared at the comments, on the verge of exploding with rage. Just then, his assistant's call came through at the perfect moment. "Mr Nolan, we've discovered that this incident was orchestrated by Miss Stella Pearson, who anonymously tipped off the journalists."

"Bang!" Evan hurled his phone to the ground with force, his expression darkening instantly. "Stella, you struck first, so don't blame me for not holding back!"

That very night, the Nolan Group's PR department was mobilised for damage control, spending vast sums of money in a bid to suppress the online frenzy. Yet, it seemed as though some invisible force was working against them, keeping the scandal alive and thriving. Evan sat in his office, having just approved an additional budget for the PR team, when his father's call came through.
