After the embrace, Olivia's legs felt numb, and she worried about collapsing onto Damien, so she reluctantly pulled away.

However, as soon as she left the bed, the man mumbled something again.

Olivia leaned in and heard him, almost childishly complaining,

"Liv doesn't hug me anymore, Liv doesn't want me."

"Liv said she doesn't like me, she only loves that stupid guy."

Olivia was speechless for a moment. Despite Damien being in a semi-conscious state, she almost believed he was awake.

With a mixture of helplessness and heartache, she soothed him,

"You misunderstood me, Liv doesn't like that man at all, she'd rather see him dead!"

"Liv likes Dami the most. She only stopped hugging you because her legs went numb."

"When my legs feel better, we can continue hugging."

Whether Damien heard her or not, he didn't move, but Olivia sensed his yearning for her embrace.

She had no choice, she couln't see him in pain, especially since his injuries were because of her.

Thus, that night, Olivia spent her time alternating between hugging Damien, moving her legs to relieve the numbness, and then hugging him again.

The next morning, when she finally fell asleep from exhaustion, the man beside her had recovered from his fever and opened his eyes.

As soon as Damien woke up, he seemed to sense something and quickly turned his head.

A metre away, the girl lay sleeping peacefully on her side, her face turned towards him, cheeks flushed from sleep, with a trace of drool on her lips.

Damien stared at her, his gaze growing deeper.

Memories of the previous day began to flood back.

He remembered the bloody scene at the factory, her trembling, and the words she said to Henry Thorn...

A dark look gradually appeared in Damien's eyes.

His body still ached terribly, making it nearly impossible to move, but a violent aura began to slowly spread.

Just then, the doctor entered the room and, seeing Damien awake, exclaimed, "Mr. Thorn, you're awake—"

Before he could finish, Damien gestured for silence.

His gaze remained fixed on Olivia, and the doctor immediately understood.

Damien didn't want them to wake her up.

They never would have guessed that this man, known for being cold-blooded and terrifying, would be so careful and protective of a woman!

Moving quietly, they approached to check on Damien.

Despite their caution, Olivia, who was sleeping lightly, woke up.

She quickly sat up.

"Doctor, you're here?"

Then she turned to Damien.

"Dami, you're awake?"

But as soon as she spoke, she met Damien's dark gaze.

The man in the bed had none of the vulnerability he showed last night. His eyes were now filled with a steely determination.

Olivia, too happy to notice Damien's change, was about to jump out of bed.

"Doctor, you can check on him. I'll wait outside—"

But behind her came the man's dangerous voice.

"Liv, are you trying to escape?"

The warning in his tone was unmistakable.

Olivia clearly felt the brewing storm in his words.

"I'm not!"

she quickly soothed in a gentle tone.

"Dami, I'll be right outside the door. I'll come back as soon as the doctor is done, okay?"

Damien was not pleased. "No."

Olivia had no choice but to obediently sit by the bed.
