The receptionist heard Olivia's words and smirked inwardly. She still believed the woman in front of her was merely pretending to know the big boss of the Thorn Group.

Just as she was preparing to watch Olivia get put in her place, she was astonished to see Damien Thorn accept the flowers and cake. He then slightly opened his arms, looking as if he was asking for a hug.

Olivia didn't disappoint him. She immediately embraced him, saying, "Mr. Thorn, how are you doing today?"

Damien's brow furrowed slightly at the formal address, his tone stiff. "Not bad."

Why was she calling him 'Mr. Thorn' so distantly and politely?

He felt quite displeased.

Olivia finally understood what he wanted. She leaned close to his ear and whispered, "Dami."

Damien felt the warmth of her breath invade his ear, seeping straight into his eardrum.

In a matter of seconds, his ears turned red.

In the brightly lit lobby, Olivia immediately noticed Damien's reddened ears.

A complicated feeling rose in her heart.

The photos she'd seen today kept reminding her of how brutal and bloodthirsty Damien once was.

Yet here he was, blushing just from her simple address.

For some reason, Olivia felt a pang of tenderness in her heart.

The man before her had been thrown into the wolves' den as a child, surviving by sheer luck to return to the Thorn family, only to be met with not parental love, but the provocation of peers and the indifference of relatives.

He had to fight, constantly fight, fiercely biting anyone who dared to harm him.

Yet, deep in his heart, he still retained a touch of purity and softness.

He wasn't a madman devoid of human feelings; he was merely trying to survive. Something many people took for granted, but for him, it was a matter of life and death!

Olivia looked up at Damien. "Shall I wait for you in the car?"

Damien held her hand. "Come upstairs with me."

With that, he led Olivia towards the private lift.

The receptionist was stunned. For a long moment, she pinched herself hard, wondering if she was dreaming.

At that moment, Olivia was being taken to the CEO's office.

One by one, the secretaries were dumbfounded at the sight of Damien holding hands with a girl, forgetting to react.

Damien, ignoring all the gazes, calmly led Olivia into his office.

He specially opened his phone, looking at the two dots touching on the screen, and his lips curled into a smile.

"Liv, wait here for me. I'll come over after my meeting," Damien said.

Olivia nodded. "Alright, I'll stay here and won't leave. You go ahead, don't worry about me."

Damien walked out of the office, and Olivia arranged the flowers, planning to put the cake in the fridge.

Just then, Damien came back. Seeing the lively girl in his office, he finally confirmed that his woman had indeed come to see him.

He stood there, feeling an unfamiliar yet intense joy.

Such joy was too extravagant, leaving him a bit at a loss.

Seeing Damien return, Olivia's heart skipped a beat. She scooped a spoonful of cake and hopped over to feed him.

The man opened his mouth mechanically, immediately feeling the sweet softness melting between his lips and teeth, spreading an indescribable thrill throughout his body.

Almost instinctively, Damien lowered his head and kissed Olivia on the lips.

The entanglement and plundering seemed insufficient; he wanted to drag her down with him, into the deep sea of emotions beneath his calm exterior.
