"Remind me again why I agreed to this?" Ryker grumbles.
"Because you love me." I smile. When I turn around to look at him, he and Asher are giving each other a strange look. Before I can figure out what it is they look at me and Asher speaks.
"We absolutely do, Doll." He smiles brightly at me. "Which is why Ry and I are going to do this without complaint." He directs the last two words at Ryker with a pointed look.
"Come on, Ry. I chose an easy one to ease into it. This should be totally painless." I say as I pick up a pair of leather pants from a shelf.
At breakfast this morning, I decided we'd spend the day at Myra's Mercantile to complete bucket list item number 7: Thrift shopping. We included a clause that we get to pick outfits for each other and we have to buy them.
These outfits will also make a reappearance for item number 15, but the boys don't know that yet.
We've been walking around the store for almost an hour already, and Ryker has done nothing but complain as he carries all the things I've been handing him.
As I leaf through a rack of collared shirts, I find a light blue polo with a small sailboat embroidered on the upper left side of the chest. Perfect. I add it to the growing stack in Ryker's arms and turn to look at the guys.
"Okay, that's everything. I think." I pause to look at all the things in Ryker's arms. "Time for you two to head to the changing rooms!" I clap excitedly. Ryker rolls his eyes at me and Asher gives me a lopsided grin as we head to the back of the store.
"Alright, Doll. Do your worst." Asher says as we stand outside the row of red velvet curtains separating the changing rooms from the rest of the store.
Ryker holds his arms out so I can dig through the stack of clothes and separate the things I chose for Asher from the things I've picked for him. After I've sorted through everything and handed Asher a stack of clothing, I stand back to look at them. They both stand there looking at me for a moment with skeptical looks on their faces.
"Go! Change." I laugh.
"B. I don't know about this..." Ryker says as he picks up the corner of the pants hanging over his arm.
"Go! Shoo!" I say with a huge grin on my face as I wave my hands at them. "Just trust me, okay?"
"Whatever you say, B." Ryker groans.
"Anything for you, Doll." Asher laughs.
They both turn and walk behind their own curtains. As I stand there and wait, I can't get the smile off of my face. I've carefully crafted both their outfits and I can't wait to see how they look on them. I pace back and forth across the floor for a minute, but decide to sit down on a plush green couch facing the changing room area to wait instead.
