"That cannot possibly be true. I refuse to accept that as fact." I laugh. "I require proof, sir." I turn to look at Jaxon.
"Proof? How am I supposed to prove that to you?" He asks me as he laughs, too.
"Show me." I shrug.
"Show you? Right now?" He raises his eyebrows in surprise. "In front of Asher and Ryker?" He points at the guys sitting on either side of me around the fire pit in Ryker's backyard from his seat across from me.
"Right here, right now. In front of the guys." I nod.
"But we don't have any marshmallows." Jaxon says. I smile at him then turn to Ryker.
"Ry?" I ask sweetly.
"Yes, B?" He says cautiously.
"Do you still have that extra bag of marshmallows from the other night?" I ask him.
"Yeah." He nods.
"Can we have them?" I ask.
"Sure, B." Ryker rolls his eyes but gets up from his camping chair to go get them.
"You're serious?" Jaxon asks.
I sigh as I turn back to him. "Jaxon. You cannot tell me that you can fit a whole bag of marshmallows in your mouth, in 90 seconds, while standing on your head and then not expect to prove it!" I throw my hands up. "Honestly! You thought I would just believe you?"
"Well, yeah." He shrugs.
I look over at Asher who is laughing at us softly. "The audacity of this man, honestly. Ridiculous." I shake my head.
Ryker walks back out with the marshmallows in one hand and a bottled water in the other. He hands me both before sitting back down in his chair to my left.
I hold up the water. "In case he chokes?" I ask with a laugh.
"No, that's for you." He tells me. "We've been here a while and I thought you might be thirsty." He says with a blank expression and shrugs.
"Oh. Thanks." I smile at him. "I guess I am kind of thirsty, now that I think about it." I laugh and open the bottle to take a drink. Setting the bottle in the cup holder on my chair, I turn back to Jaxon and hold up the bag of marshmallows. "You ready to put your money where your mouth is?" I ask.
Asher laughs beside me and Jaxon smiles, shaking his head.
"That was a terrible joke, Bastiana." Jaxon chuckles.
"Shut up. You laughed." I point out. "Now, let's go. Prove you're not a dirty, rotten liar, sir." I shake the bag of marshmallows at him.
