"I'm still not sure I understand the theme for tonight, Hon." Mom says from her spot on my bed while I put my dress on in my closet.

"Yeah, I don't think the dance committee was trying very hard when they came up with it." I laugh as I step into the skirt of my two-piece dress. I lift it up over my belly button and secure the buttons at the back.

"What does 'Warriors at Sea' even mean?" She laughs softly.

"I have no idea, but the guys and I decided to coordinate colors." I call out to her as I put on the halter top of my dress, making sure the clips on the collar and the zipper on the lower section are secure. The way the straps lay across my back doesn't allow for a bra and I'm trying to avoid a wardrobe malfunction.

"So, what color are the boys wearing?" Mom asks.

"Ry is wearing black and Ash is wearing red." I smile. "Which I can't wait to see." I slip my feet into the strappy silver heels I got for tonight and stand up to look through my jewelry box.

"What do you mean? You haven't seen what they're wearing tonight?" She asks me.

"Nope. We decided to surprise each other this time. The guys picked their outfits all by themselves this year." I laugh softly and shake my head as I put on a few silver rings and a wide silver bangle on my left wrist. I look in the mirror again before picking up a thin arm cuff and sliding it onto my right bicep. It looks like an arrow wrapped around my arm, which feels fitting.

"Well, you'll only be able to see their outfits if you come out, Sweetheart. Are you almost ready? The boys will be here soon." I hear her laugh softly.

"Yeah, just a second." I look back at my reflection in the mirror as I examine my outfit.

The silky material of my top provides full coverage of my chest, but leaves most of my back bare with just a strap around my neck and waist. The material is a pretty shade of blue that reminds me of the ocean. I adjust the flowy tulle skirt so that the waistband is less than an inch from where the top ends. Since I'm very short, it isn't very difficult. The skirt is also a gorgeous shade of ocean blue with white peeking through between the layers of tulle, which falls just below my knees. The layered nature of the skirt makes it look like white crested waves. The heels I found are only about three inches, which is perfect for me, and they have a thin square heel. The gladiator style straps on them wind around my ankles and up my calves a few inches.

I turn a few times to make sure everything looks perfect before running my hands over the skirt and taking a deep breath.

"Okay, I'm coming out." I call out to my mom.

"Oh, you already did, Bug. But come show me your dress." She laughs and I roll my eyes as I step out into my room.

"You're so funny, mom." I shake my head and my carefully set curls bounce around my face.
