"So, you really just needed help with the heavy lifting portion of this, didn't you, Doll?" Asher grunts out as he lifts the large cooler from the bed of his truck, setting it on the ground.

"Pretty much." I shrug and laugh lightly. "Normally, I'd call both of you for this, but it's Ry's birthday and I wanted to surprise him with the last bucket list item. And also because I think it'll be hilarious." I smirk at him.

"You know, if it was anyone else, he'd probably beat them up for this, right?" Ash laughs.

"I know." I smile and shrug. "Now, come on. We still have to get this up the fire escape." I turn on my heel and walk over to the metal ladder hanging from the back of the building.

"'Fire escape'?" Ash asks loudly. "How exactly do you expect me to haul this up the fire escape, Doll?"

"I'm not sure." I turn back to look at him and see him looking up at the two-story strip mall in front of us. "But I brought bungee cords and a bunch of rope!" I give him a wide smile. He shakes his head and gives me a disbelieving look. "Come on! We can do this, Ash! With my brains and your brawn, this building is no match for us!"

Ash looks down at the oversized cooler and the gear in the bed of his truck, then back at me, then up at the building. He thinks it over for a second, then glances over at Michi's Dogs, the hot dog place on the other side of the parking lot.

"Hang on, I've got an idea." He says and turns to start jogging over to the restaurant.

"Where are you going?" I yell after him.

"I'll be right back!" He calls over his shoulder.

I sit down on the lid of the cooler to wait, and a few minutes later, I look up and see him walking back towards me. He's got a stack of plastic buckets in one hand and a greasy paper bag in the other.
