"That was amazing!" I laugh as I scoot into our booth at Benny's.
"I had my doubts at first, but that was pretty fun, Doll." Asher laughs as he scoots in on my right.
"That was a pretty good birthday gift, B." Ryker nods as he sits on my left.
"Oh, my dear friend." I shake my head. "You didn't think that was the whole gift, did you? That was only part one of your birthday gift!" I grin at him.
"'Part one'? What else do you have planned?" He eyes me warily.
"Well, part two is lunch at Benny's." I gesture at the diner around us. "And I've already instructed the waitstaff to not let you pay. Either of you." I add, glancing over at Asher, too.
"B, I can-" Ryker starts but I hold up my hands and cut him off.
"I know you can, Ry. But today is your birthday! So, I'm going to pay and you two are going to suck it up!" I nod resolutely. I pin both of them with stern looks until they relent and put their hands up in surrender.
"Good." I continue. "Then, after lunch we're all going to Buster's where Ry will pick out three movies for us to watch before we head back to my place for part three and four of his birthday extravaganza!" I laugh as I explain the plan to them.
Buster's Movie Emporium is the largest movie rental place in the county, and where we always go to get our movies for Friday nights. I'm pretty sure every movie ever made can be found there.
"There are four parts to this birthday gift?" Ryker shakes his head at me. "This is too much, B."
"Nonsense! This is not enough for more than 11 years of friendship, old man!" I laugh. "Especially since I spent our Friendiversary at camp this year." I frown dramatically.
"It's okay, B." Ryker sighs. "You already apologized and we went out for our annual donut when you got back. You don't have to do so much for my birthday. I'm really okay just hanging out with the two of you all day."
"Good! Cause that's exactly what we're doing! While watching movies and doing some other stuff." I smile at him. "Part three is movie night at my place, just the three of us, and part four is an actual gift that I made for you, Ry." I tell him.
"Come on, Ry. It does sound like a pretty good day..." Asher says, leaning towards Ryker with raised eyebrows.
"Alright! Fine." Ryker tosses his hands up, giving in.
"Yes! Excellent." I grin.
Maggie comes over to take our orders, stopping our excited chatter. After she walks away, Asher nudges my arm.
"So, that was some pretty good shootin', Doll." He laughs. "You nailed Jeremiah right in the face!"
"Oh my god, I know!" I laugh loudly. "He looked up at the perfect time!"
