"Merry Christmas!" I say cheerfully as Ry walks out his front door.
"Christmas isn't until tomorrow, Ash." Ry grumbles as he closes the door behind him and walks over to where I'm leaning against my truck in his driveway.
As he walks towards me, I take a moment to appreciate the view.
Ry is wearing dark jeans that hug his muscular thighs in a way that makes me pull my bottom lip between my teeth and bite down on it. The silly holiday sweater that Tiana insisted is crucial to today's activities hugs his chest, accentuating every impressive muscle on his torso. The design on the front makes my lips lift in a small smile.
Tiana picked out funny holiday sweaters for each of us, and made sure to tell us that wearing them to her place today is mandatory. The one Ry is wearing is black and has an image of a pug wearing a Santa hat in front of a tree with the words 'Bah Hum Pug' underneath it.
"Nice sweater." I smirk at him as he steps up next to my truck.
"You're one to talk." He mutters, nodding at my chest.
I look down at my own sweater and shake my head softly. My bright green sweater has a row of nutcrackers on it below the words 'Let's Get Crackin''. I look back up at Ry and laugh softly.
"Anything for our girl, right?" I shrug and his mouth tilts up in a small smile. "Come on. Hop in so we can get this day started." I wave an arm, gesturing for him to get in the car.
"Alright, alright." Ry says as he opens the passenger door, lifting the bag I just noticed him carrying into the cab and reaching back to set it next to my bag of gifts in the backseat.
We both get in and buckle up as I turn the engine on again. Normally, we'd just walk over to Tiana's, but the weather has been frigid lately and we're also going to a few other places today, so it'll be easier to have the truck with me.
"You ready for today?" I ask Ry as I pull out of his driveway.
"Yep." He nods, looking out the windshield. "I even made sure to prepare this year."
"'Prepare'?" I ask, tilting my head in curiosity as I glance over at him briefly.
"Yeah. I drank three cups of coffee and I brought a 5 Hour Energy with me for later." He says, showing me the small drink as he pulls it from his pocket.
"Maybe you'll actually be able to make it through all the festivities this year, then." I laugh softly.
Every year on Christmas Eve, Tiana's family has a day jam packed with holiday activities. The day starts at 6am at Tiana's apartment. We meet there and carpool to the middle school where volunteers gather for the annual food drive.
