The rest of June passed quickly. More days spent at the river, having bonfires at Ryker's, and watching movies, always with Ryker and Asher by my side.

We also crossed a few more items off the bucket list before the month was up.

#2: Blacklight Bowling - I lost, badly. Apparently that was another game they always let me win. Asher bought me cheese fries as a consolation prize.

#3: Mini Golf - I actually won this time! Ryker pouted until I gave him a hug and bought him a box of Dots.

#4: Farmer's Market - Ryker complained all day while Asher got excited over a stall of used records. He bought more than a dozen of them then the guys bought me a bouquet of fresh flowers.

Before we knew it, July was here and it was time for the guys and Abi to start their summer session workouts with the team.

The first few days of workouts were brutal on Abi and the guys, but Coach McConnell gave them the 4th and 5th off to celebrate the holiday. July 4th falls on a Thursday this year, but since the team has Friday off as well, we're going big this year.

Jaxon and Abi spent a whole day in the car driving up to Washington to get the good fireworks that we can't get in Oregon. They took his truck and packed it full of hundreds of different kinds of fireworks. Abi and Jaxon love the Fourth of July. It's definitely their favorite holiday.

"Who's ready for the biggest event of the summer?!" Jaxon shouts as he comes into our living room on Thursday morning.

"Can you not shout before I've had coffee?" I groan, sitting up from the couch where I slept last night.

Asher and Ryker are sprawled out on the floor in front of the couch. At the sound of Jaxon's voice, Asher sits up and glares at Jaxon and Ryker lets out a long string of curse words without opening his eyes.

"Is this what a hangover feels like?" I grumble, holding my head in my hands as I lean forward.

"Did you guys drink last night, Bastiana?" Jaxon's voice drops, all the humor draining out of it. I look up and he turns to Asher. "Did you let her drink last night?"

"First," I say, irritation filling my voice. "I'm right here. Don't talk to Ash like I'm not here. Second, if I had decided to drink last night, neither of them could have stopped me. Third, if I drank last night, it would be none of your damn business, Jaxon. Lastly, no. We did not drink last night."

Jaxon's face drops into a mixture of shock and a touch of fear at the cold sound of my voice. Asher is laughing softly as he shakes his head and moves to stand up. Ryker hasn't moved from his spot, face down on the floor and without opening his eyes he speaks.
