"I hate Jax." Ry growls as we walk back to his place after walking Tiana home.

"I can't believe he actually kissed her." I say quietly, shaking my head. "I mean, I've wanted to do that for years, but he actually did the damn thing." I say, almost impressed.

"Yeah, but she's hurting over this, man." Ry sighs. "Nico may be a tool, but she hates that she did this to him. The guilt is all over her face. And she was so worried about Riggy's friendship." He shakes his head.

"She's an empath, Ry." I shrug. "She feels for everyone else before she feels for herself. It's part of what makes her, her. It's part of why we both love her so much."

"Yeah." He sighs. "By the way," He says, turning to look at me as we approach his house. "Did you take a fucking picture of us sitting together?" He asks me.

"Maybe." I grin sheepishly. "The two of you all curled up like that just looked so cute." I shrug and my cheeks heat as I turn away and we walk up his driveway. "And I figured you might need a reminder sometimes, of how much she cares about you, no matter what else is going on in her life. She's always going to need you like that."

"Oh." Ry sighs as he opens the gate and we walk back into his backyard. "Well, thanks." He says quietly. "Do you- Can you send it to me?"

"Yeah." I smile softly. "Of course, Ry." We walk back over to our chairs and sit down.

"I still want to throttle Jax, though." Ry grumbles. "Tiana's so messed up over this. I hate seeing her sad."

"What do you think Nico is going to say when she tells him?" I ask quietly.

"Is it wrong that I kinda hope he dumps her over it?" he sighs. "I don't want her to hurt like that, but she deserves better than that asshole. He's hardly been around all summer."

"I know!" I roll my eyes. "I just wish she could see that she deserves so much better than that." I shake my head. "But I'm pretty sure he's going to forgive her. Especially with Jax gone now."

"Why would he forgive her though?" He asks. "I mean- she did cheat on him. Technically." He adds carefully.

"Think about it, Ry. Tiana is amazing. Wouldn't you forgive her for just about anything?" I scoff. "He'll never do better than her."

"You make a good point, Ash." He sighs and picks up a blunt from the box in his cup holder, holding it to his lips and lighting it quickly. "That girl could run over my dog and I'd still love her just as much." He laughs softly. "If I had a dog."

"She could run me over and I'd forgive her with my last breath." I shake my head and Ry laughs softly, holding the blunt out to me.

I reach over Tiana's empty chair and take it from him. We smoke quietly for a few minutes, passing the blunt back and forth over her empty chair. After a little while, I decide to move over into her chair so we don't have to reach so far. Ry gives me a look but doesn't say anything. After a few minutes, I finally say what's been on my mind all night.
