Ch.24

I let go of Gally slowly "what happened out there?" Someone asked us.

I looked at Thomas who was staring at me. "How did you guys make it out?" "With the help of Thomas" I admitted,
"You saw a Griever?" Chuck asked us.

"They didn't just see it. McKenna killed it" Minho said everyone looked at me but I only looked at Gally, who had mixed emotions.

We were all in the meeting room Gally was beyond pissed.

I sat next to Thomas not knowing what to say but I couldn't tell if Gally was mad at me or the situation I was put in.

"Things are changing.... There's no denying that." I looked at Newt who looked back at me rolling his eyes.

"First Ben gets stung in broad daylight,
and then Alby, and now our greenie here. Has taken it upon himself to go into the maze" he said with flat out anger in his voice.

Gally stared Thomas down.
I sat up more about to stand up for Thomas but Thomas shook his head at me.

"Which is a clear violation-" "But Gally if he didn't help I wouldn't have made it out." I said being honest.

Gally stared at me not knowing what much to say but I could tell by the comment he got more angrier. "Yeah, she's right. They also saved Alby." Frypan said.

Newt and I kept looking at each other as if, we could read each others thoughts.

I knew Newt was on my side but was Gally?
I think Gally was more pissed the fact Thomas went in after us and it wasn't him that did.

I knew Gally was jealous of Thomas and that's why he wanted to punish him. But he was also punishing me for being stupid. I knew that I knew what his game was.

"Did they?" Gally asked Frypan.

Gally and Newt had a stare down for a moment "For three years since McKenna has been here. We have coexistence with these things and now this dumb shank has brought my girlfri- McKenna to kill one." He said trying to calm down.

"It wasn't his fault-" I tried defending Thomas but Gally kept firing back at me.

"Who knows where that could lead huh McKenna? Because of your stupidity we could have dangerous things happen!" I was shocked he said that to me.

"What are you suggesting we do?" Newt asked looking at us.

I felt Thomas hold my hand slightly and I held it back. I was pissed and I didn't care if Gally noticed.

I shook my head at Gally knowing he's going to make it worse than it needed to be.

Gally looks at me glaring "they have to be punished." Alright he lost his mind!

"WOAH WHAT?!" The other gladers were mad at Gally even I was. I was livid my own boyfriend.

Minho and I stared at each other "Seriously Gally?" I heard someone say.

They all were attacking Gally trying to get him to be reasonable for his decisions.

"Come on!" Chuck said and another boy I didn't know stood up for me.

Newt looked at Minho "Minho. You were there with them. What do you think?"

I looked at Minho who stared down Gally, I knew Minho would punch him if it weren't for everyone being there.

I had hope in my eyes for Minho I knew he was on our side.

Everyone was silent listening to him, Minho sighed "I think....in all time we've been here... no one's EVER killed a griever before" Minho stated looking at Gally and I. Gally and Newt looked at me.

"When I turned tail and ran these two dumb shanks.... Stood behind to help Alby. Look I don't know if they're both brave or stupid." I chuckled at that silently.

"Whatever it is we need more of it!"
Minho shouts. "I say we free McKenna and make Thomas a Runner!"

"A runner?!" Frypan was shocked.

I looked at Minho who smirked my way.
"THOMAS!"
"MCKENNA" Chuck cheered both of us everyone was talking now.

"Minho let's not!" Frypan tried speaking up but Newt smirked my way.

Gally only glared at me.

"IF YOU WANT TO THROW THE NEWBIE A PARADE , THATS FINE.  GO AHEAD. BUT IF THERES ONE THING I KNOW ABOUT THE MAZE IT IS THAT YOU DO NOT-"

We heard creaking and mechanic noise the sirens started going off.
