Ch.4

Thomas POV

I was walking to the cafeteria room where a bunch of people were.

I was looking around for McKenna I hoped to see her.

But there was a bunch of other people I didn't know "hey Thomas!" I heard my name being called I looked over seeing Minho come up to me.

He was happy "hey Minho, what's going on? Where's McKenna?" I asked.

"I don't know where she is I haven't seen her. We also weren't the only ones in the maze" Minho said.

I was confused by that.

He took me over to Newt who I smiled at and a few others I knew.

I sat next to Minho and Newt.

Travis and Frypan across from us.

"And there was a big loud, explosion." A boy spoke up. "And these guys came out of no where"

I looked seeing Winston was here also.

"Started shooting up the place" this guy I didn't know continued to speak "it was intense" the other man said.
I sat down fully "they pulled us out of the maze and brought us here."
I could tell Newt was looking around for her.
Because he was fidgety.

"What about the rest?" Newt asked. "The other people left behind in the maze? What happened to them?" He continued.

"I don't know." The boy said. "I guess WICKED still has them."
Newt and I looked at each other before he asks "how long you guys been here?" He questioned.

"Not long. Just a day or two" the boy answered.

"That kid over there has been here the longest" I looked over seeing a boy with a hood up.

"Almost a week"

"His maze was nothing but girls." The other boy said.

Minho looked over "really?" He asked.

"Some guys have all the luck" "yeah.." I whispered I hoped McKenna was okay.

I looked at Newt I knew he thought the same thing.

"You seem to have a girl on your mind" the boy spoke looking at me.

"Yeah... we only had a girl in our maze one McKenna have you seen her?" I asked anxiously.

"No." He shook his head.

"Gentlemen! Ladies" I looked over seeing Janson.

"You all know how this works. If you hear your name called. Please rise in an orderly fashion. Join my colleagues behind me. Where they will escort you to the eastern wing" Janson explained.

"Your new lives are about to begin!"

Some cheered but most didn't.

"Connor"

"Evelyn" I looked around as the names were being called.

"Justin"

"Peter"

"Allison"

"Squiggy" some people were laughing at his name.

"Alright settle down" Janson orders.

"Franklin"

"And Abigail"

He closed his clipboard making people sigh.

"Now, now don't get discouraged. If I could take more,  I would"  he continued.

"There's always tomorrow, your time will come"

"Go on eat up!"

The kids all walked out as everyone cheered "where are they goin?" Minho asks.

"Far from here." The boy speaks.

He faces us "lucky bastards"
"Some kind of farm a safe place they can only take in a couple of people at a time."

I looked to my right at the window and seen a Dr walking with McKenna....

Wait ... MCKENNA!

I stood up immediately "what the hell?" I asked.

"HEY, MCKENNA!" She kept walking as if she didn't hear me.

"MCKENNA!" I shouted, I jogged a bit to try and catch up.

She looked at me before being out of my sight.

I went to go through the door but the man stopped me. "Hey, hey, hey,hey!" He said.

"Where are they taking her?" I asked.

"They just have to run a few more tests." He said.

"Don't worry they'll be done with her soon"

"Is she okay?" I pestered.

"She's fine" he smiled at me which I didn't like.

They took us to a new area which seems to be where we are staying.
