Ch. 12

He was panting and stopped kissing my neck, "did we just do that?" He whispered "yeah" I smiled a bit, I started putting my fresh clothes on he did the same. He kissed my forehead smiling at me. No we didn't do it, but we did do some things......

Newt took my hand guiding me with him to look for more things, I didn't know how Thomas was going to feel about this if he found out, but I didn't worry about that right now.

I am still slightly confused about my emotions and what's going on. I didn't know what Newt and I were or what Thomas and I were for all I know they were probably just as confused as I was.

I sat down fixing my boots and grabbed the bag Newt handed me. He played with my hair a bit smiling at me, before walking a bit to find more things.

I noticed something that seemed like a picture I took it and smiled at the photo it was a little girl with her teddy bear. I hope she at least had a good life before.... All of this.

I sighed quietly not being able to remember my past life as much sucked. But, at the same time maybe it was a good thing, "You okay?" Newt came over.  He was fidgety with something.

"Yeah. Just this picture" he took it gently from me smiling sadly.

"I don't know if in my past if I ever wanted anything but..." I looked around. "I do want kids. I want a family." I said awkwardly rubbing my neck.

Newt looked at me hesitantly but smiled sadly "You know it's not-" he started but I cut him off. "I know.... I can't. Not with everything going on it's not safe." I said quietly.

He nodded handing it back to me. "I just wish we could stop running. Be free. Live our lives." I whispered.

Newt, took my hands bending down facing me. I wouldn't look at him, "Look at me..." he whispered, while he gently turned my face to him, "we've came this far. We're going to make it whether, that's to the safe place the mountain people. Or find somewhere better. You're going to make it. I'm going to make it. You will be an amazing mom one day whoever that is with." He said looking at me.

"I will make sure it happens." I smiled sadly at him. "We will all be free one day. You will be happy with whoever it is you choose." He said while whispering.

I started tearing up "Hey..." he whispered. "I love you. I'm always going to be here for you. I've kept that promise so far haven't I?"He said he pulled out something from his pocket. I nodded wiping away my tears that fell and looked at his hands confused.

"I-...I found this while looking through things I hope it's your size and color" he whispered.

I smiled tearing up "Newt" I hugged him tightly.

It was a ring. He hugged me back tightly before pulling away "this is me keeping my promise still, about us being free and living the lives we want. Maybe even us being together one day" Newt whispered.

"Newt" I spoke hesitantly "I know you're still confused on who you want to be with and spend the rest of your life with, but that doesn't mean I won't be waiting for you" he said looking at me in my eyes. "This is my promise to protect you, love you and care for you, no matter who you choose."

"I love you McKenna." He spoke staring at me.

I felt a few tears falls "I love you too." I smiled he took my hand gently putting the ring on my finger. I hugged him tightly before letting go.

I seen lights turn on making me confused. Newt took my hand squeezing it gently.

"MCKENNA!" I heard screaming I ran out of the room with Newt.

"THOMAS?!" I screamed "what's going on?"Winston asks coming over.

"I don't know I hear Thomas" I said holding Newts hand tightly.

"HEYYYYYYY!" Thomas screams. I looked over feeling scared as I held onto Newts arm.

I seen Thomas and Minho running to us.

"HEYYYY RUNNNN" I looked at Newt "Thomas!" I said going forward Newt started pulling me back there was something chasing them.

"GO!" Minho screams.

"OH SHIT!" Newt yells he starts dragging me with him.

"HEYYYYY!" Thomas screams at us to run.

There was a hoard that looked like of people chasing them although it wasn't... people....
