Ch.6

Thomas POV
"Get them to their bunks" Janson orders.

Soon enough the guards pretty much shoved all of us to our rooms and shoved us inside.

"Get yours asses in there! All of you!" I was pissed.

I needed to see her.

We needed to leave.

Minho looks at me "what the hell was that about?" Minho asks.

"You didn't really think they were just going to let you through" Newt mentioned.

I looked at him "Nah, of course I didn't." I took the card out.

"I'm gonna find out what's behind the other side of that door" I said.

"Right." Newt said I could tell he was annoyed.

"Newt, they're hiding something. Okay?" I asked.

"Don't you want to know if McKenna is okay also?" I pestered. "These people are not who they say they are!" I pleaded.

"No, Thomas! You don't know that! And for McKenna she's a big girl! The fact you don't think I don't care about her at all I do! FUCK Thomas! I've known her longer than you have and you all of a sudden act like you've known her for years! Bloody hell!" He shouted "what's this about you being her boyfriend? did she even consent to it?!" He shouted at me.

"Thomas I love her more than you'll know" he said I stared at him in shock. "I know this is weird with all this soulmate situation, how us... three but now two are connected to her,  but I'm being responsible and letting her choose who she wants to be with." He said with anger.

I looked at him not knowing what to say.
I stared at him in shock while I listened, "Last time I checked she didn't tell me if she even liked you but I do know one thing. She likes me." He said coming forward.

"How do you know that?" I questioned with anger. "She kissed me last time I checked. Did she ever kiss you?" I asked going forward.

He glared at me and I knew I crossed the line.
She didn't kiss me I kissed her but I wanted to dig under his skin a little bit.

I liked Newt believe me I do. But sometimes he was selfish. Especially when it came to her.

"The only thing that we do know though is that they helped rescue us from wicked! They gave us new clothes. They gave us food. They gave us a proper bed. Some of us haven't had that in a long time." Newt continued.

I knew he was angry at me. We all knew why.
"Yeah, but..." I tried to continue.

"Some of us a lot longer than others." Newt mentioned glaring at me.

I could tell out of anger he wanted to kill me but luckily I heard a noise that saved me in that moment.

I turned around and seen the vent off and Aris crawl over.

"Hey, Thomas. You got it didn't you?" Aris asks.

"Yeah, let's go." I said I was annoyed and needed to leave.

I knew Newt and I were still friends but the soulmate thing was going to have to workout on its own time, I knew that. It was up to McKenna on what was happening.

I also knew that we couldn't stay here any longer "Maybe you guys are right maybe I am paranoid but. I got to find out for sure." I looked at Newt.

"Just cover for me be back as soon as I can" I said looking at them.

I went in the vent following Aris we went back to the spot we were looking at I opened the Vent and jumped down.

Aris followed and closed the vent.

I looked around to be sure nobody was near by, I took the card out and put it up to the machine sliding it.

The machine turned green, as the door opened I went inside with Aris.

It looked like a laboratory room I looked to my right seeing what looked like organs almost floating in water in the tubes. That's disgusting.... I thought.

Aris and I went through the doors seeing bodies being attached to machines as they all stood up right "what the....." I whispered.

I walked forward looking hoping and praying McKenna wasn't attached to any.

I spotted a girl that I didn't want to see "McKenna?" I asked.

I walked over quickly seeing she was attached to all different cords while breathing through the tube I moved her hair gently, only to realize it wasn't her.

"It's Rachel" Aris said.

I looked at him "they took her the first night."

She kinda looked like McKenna which was the weird part.
"I told her it was going to be okay." He said.

I heard the door opening.
