Ch.29 Newts Ending

"McKenna?" I turned around seeing Newt "Hey can we talk?" He asked I nodded he took my hand guiding me towards the ocean.

We sat in front of it, "Thank you for saving me." Newt said looking at me. "Newt, you don't have to thank me for that because, I know you would've done the same." I said looking at him.

He smiled back, "I know I would've but I'm still aloud too" he laughed a bit, "I told the others to take care of you. But. I realized, I want to take care of you. I love you McKenna. I want to be yours. Officially. I always have ever since you were dating Gally in the maze, it's been hard seeing you with someone else. I realized that... when I was seeing you with Thomas and when Gally came back." He said while looking at me.

"Newt" I paused before continuing, "I love you so much. You've done so much for me even before the box of what I can remember. I knew, I loved you then too and I still do, love you Newt. When I was running to save you, I knew I truly did love you." I said looking at him. "I knew I couldn't see you gone, because I need you. I need all of you Newt." I said looking at him.

He smiled before gently putting a hand on my chin and kissing me, I kissed him back gently before pulling away with our heads touching. "Will you marry me?" He asked quietly.

I looked at him in his eyes before smiling, "yes Newt, I will marry you." He pulled me into a tight hug before we both laid down on the sand. I laid my head on his chest as we watched the stars.

He looked at my hand, "you're still wearing the ring" he said messing with it. "I always will" I said looking at him. He gently took it off before playing it on my wedding finger. "There now it's official" he smiled before kissing me, I kissed him back.

He held my hand tightly in his as we looked at the sky, it was beautiful so much better than the glade.

I knew now that I, got everything I wanted.
I was finally happy.
